As the title of the post suggests, I'm going to list various ideas in one big thread, rather than creating separate threads for each one.

Icker Preserve Should Be Able To Stack On Itself And The Pool Of Items It Can Hold Should Be Expanded:

The Icker Preserve isn't a bad item overall. But it's a bit problematic to use in large quantities because it simply takes up a lot of space.
That's why I think a good solution to reducing the amount of space it takes up is to add the option to place a second Icker Preserver on top of the first one.

Spoiler

Zrzut_ekranu_2025-11-08_143356.webp.3e219bfb5e41ffe27935ffd216db575f.webp

The maximum number of Icker Preservers that can be connected is two. Because if you added even more, the character simply wouldn't be able to reach items placed higher up.
Thats why two Icker Preservers are the perfect height for the characters.

Zrzutekranu2025-11-08140520.png.d2740aa6aa2f290d814bc2bc2ccc4710.png

Creating connected Icker Preservers might require nothing, or it might require adding an icker jar/dreadstone.

As for the second change, it would be useful to expand the pool of items that Icker Preserve can hold to include items that rot but are not food or dishes.

Spoiler

Because we have equipment for the head and body slot that rots, we have rotting heal, we have rotting small creatures and none of them can be put into the Icker Preserver.

Chester's Transformation Into His Shadow Form Should Only Be Possible During The New Moon, Not The Full Moon:

I think everyone will agree that this makes much more sense than the current state. Why would Alter transform Chester into Shadow Chester? It doesn't make sense in the current state of DST.
A new moon, on the other hand, makes sense. Because Alter's influence is at its lowest then. And Charlie's influence is at its highest. This is evident, for example, in the fact that Shadow Pieces can only be activated during a new moon.
Even Klei themselves showed a more logical transformation of Chester into his shadow form. In the animation for Hallowed Nights 2024, Charlie, who rules shadow creatues, transform Chester into Shadow Chester when she giving him back. And that makes sense.

Spoiler

If Chester were to transform into Shadow Chester during a new moon, there should also be a different animation. Instead of moonlight, there should be shadowy hands. Kind of like changing the Beefalo skin.

Spoiler

Perhaps the item type required to transform Chester into Snow Chester could be changed.
Because it's white and blue and cools. It has characteristics associated with the lunar side.
So instead of 9 blue gems, 9 moon glass shards would be used.
But I don't have a strong opinion on this proposal. So, let others share their thoughts in the comments of post.

Unique Geotermite Drop - Thermal Organ:

Geotermites would drop a unique item: Thermal Organ, which would be the meat equivalent of Fire Nettle Fronds.
But this item would also have other uses.

The Thermal Organ could be used to craft a tool that would function similarly to the Bug B'Gone from Hamlet. When used, it would create a temporary cloud.

Spoiler

Zrzutekranu2025-11-08194745.png.da452d50a303394e29313b9e297ae732.png

This cloud would generate heat in a small area.
Additionally, the heat cloud would cause flowers, ferns, and light flowers that come within its range to turn into their withered versions after a while.

Spoiler

Withered_Flower3.webp.5507526c0e7024d38e7eab0de6001b2e.webpWithered_Fern.webp.8974584dbbe6cd20eb3a13690ea51ffc.webpWithered_Light_Flower.webp.2914976d20db020e79e0c061e8f2a29a.webp

This would allow for the acquisition of withered flowers on the surface, as well as ferns and light flowers outside the fumarole biome.

The second use for the Thermal Organ would be a hat that could be cooked in a crockpot. The hat would rot and heat up when worn.

Plantable Ferns:

A very simple concept. Little worms would emerge from the ferns.
You could catch them with a bugnet and use them to plant the ferns. A sort of cave equivalent to butterflies.
It would be a truly wonderful decorative addition.

W.O.R.B.O.T. Should Visually Destroy Itself During Combat:

Enlightment W.A.R.B.O.T. and Celestial Scion are quite different from each other, though.
Personally, if I didn't know this boss and someone told me that W.A.R.B.O.T. was the first phase and Scion the last, I would have assumed there was another phase between them. Because they are so different.

Spoiler

600px-Enlightened_W.webp.ec5afdbd840fb5c4bb07e85381739c37.webp600px-Celestial_Scion.webp.7d5d89238296f4edbb7f89fd3a7068e5.webp

Of course, I'm not saying the boss needs another phase. Given its in current state, it's simply unnecessary.
But I think W.A.R.B.O.T.'s appearance should change as it loses health.
Parts of it should fall off, the glass should crack more and more, and the Pure Gestalt energy should spill out more and more, making it more apparent that something wants escape from W.A.R.B.O.T..
Such a change would definitely improve the visual transition of this boss's phases.

Mutated Creatures Should Drop Half-Rotten Loot:

I think that would make sense. Mutant creatures are living dead, so their bodies must be rotten to some extent. So, indicating this by having their loot be half-rotted would be a good change.

Moreover, this would further differentiate mutated and possessed creatures. Possessed creatures don't drop food, only rot. This shows that possessed creatures are already so rotten that they don't drop any food.

Then, normal creatures would drop completely fresh food. Mutated creatures would drop half-rotten food. And possessed creatures would drop only rot.

Spoiler

Crow.webp.c88ff0bbf2ee9272f2b75e7567ff6337.webpMoonblindCrow.webp.f888ab50cdaaad2bc20c3aefdab30f65.webpBright-BeakedBird.webp.bb6edb3f3b4ab6347bc0161067e05770.webp

I know the moonblind crow doesn't drop anything. But since the bird has a mutated and possessed version, it simply looks good as a representation of regular, mutated, and possessed creatures.

A Few Inconsistencies With Mutated And Possessed Creatures (And One Mob Variant Suggestion):

Everyone says dead frogs should turn into Bright-Eyed Frogs.
But no one talks about that they drop frog legs despite being possessed creature.

Spoiler

Zrzutekranu2025-11-09195038.png.9ab47e5e66e7548f7edf28a9d631e54d.png

Possessed Varg, Armored Bearger, Crystal Deerclops, Bright-Beaked Bird, and Crystal-Crested Buzzard.
They all drop rot instead of food. Because they are possessed creatures.

Spoiler

But Bright-Eyed Frogs drop food, and it's completely fresh.
In my opinion, they should drop rot and moon glass instead of frog legs.

Another inconsistency is that Wobster doesn't transform into Lunar Wobster

Spoiler

Wobster.webp.370c1c3dab5a907d815aff9b7d05c7d1.webpLunarWobster.webp.45adebea6725b13f1c960f49d421b9f8.webp

.It has a mutated version, so it should be able to transform into it after death.

So, instead of pointing out the inconsistencies, I'll suggest a variant of the mob.
It's a mutant frog.

Spoiler

MutatedFrog.png.19c9fd237911ec66b384f4eef4e321aa.png

One of the Bright-Eyed Frog concept arts is done in the style of mutant creatures, and damn, it looks so good.
This design is too good not to be remade as a mutant frog.
Such a frog could appear at the hot springs on Lunar Island and transform from a dead regular frog during lunation and from Crystal-Crested Buzzards.

And if the mutant frog were added, we'd have a second mob with a mutated and possessed version.

Spoiler

Frog.webp.736616943ee77b31d702cc8a0b4417a0.webpMutatedFrog.png.19c9fd237911ec66b384f4eef4e321aa.pngBright-EyedFrog.webp.87075d2822ea95636f1aab0dd0f3bb1c.webp

Crow.webp.c88ff0bbf2ee9272f2b75e7567ff6337.webpMoonblindCrow.webp.f888ab50cdaaad2bc20c3aefdab30f65.webpBright-BeakedBird.webp.bb6edb3f3b4ab6347bc0161067e05770.webp

Overall, I think it would be cool to see more creatures with a mutated and possessed version.

Mutating Merms by Wurt Should Be Slightly Changed:

Feeding merms only moon glass is almost too simple.
Compared to mutations during lunation or when possessed buzzards eat corpses, feeding merms glass is simply stupid.
Instead of just glass, Wurt could get a new item that would mutate merms.
The item would be crafted from one moon glass and one lune tree blossom.
So, moon glass would still be used for mutations, but not by itself. Only when combined with actual food, which is veggie, a type of food merms eat.

Geotermite Queen:

The fumarole biome has geotermites, which (as everyone probably knows) are inspired by termites.

Spoiler

800px-Isoptera.webp.0575bc589f27d9cb1539052dd58bdde1.webp

And termites in nature have their queen.

Spoiler

90z6vegvipe61.jpg.58608352863d7d6824a6a87a4d574885.jpg

So a boss being the Geotermite Queen would be a really interesting thing to add.

Of course, to avoid crowding the biome with the boss spawn, this should be a passage leading to a separate location with the boss.
This would work similary like a Sanctum (a separate location that changes shape and contents) and a Mants Nest (an insect nest with many rooms and containing the queen).

Ancient Trees Saplings Should Stack:

I understand that Surprising Seeds don't stack. Because they grow into two types of trees. But I don't understand why saplings of these trees don't stack.

Besides, I think that since Gloomthorn and Sproutrock drop seed when cut down, it shouldn't be a Surprising Seed, but a seed unique to that tree that would stack.
So, for example, Gloomthorn wouldn't drop Surprising Seed when cut down, but Gloomthorn Seed.
Similarly, Sproutrock wouldn't drop Surprising Seed, but Sproutrock Seed.
This would work the same way as crop seeds. That is, any crop can grow from regular seeds. However, when harvested, it gives its own seeds, not regular seeds.

Scared Plants:

A similar problem to ancient tree saplings. Scared saplings don't stack at all. This is annoying when you want to move them, but it requires a ton of space in the eq.

Another problem with Scared Plants is that no matter what state the plant is dug up in—whether it's withered, without "fruit," or with it. Its sapling will always have the same texture.

Spoiler

This is problematic because it's impossible to tell them apart in the eq.
Scared saplings should have different graphics depending on whether it's withered, without, or with grown "fruit."

Another problem is that many plants can't be waxed with Embalming Spritz.
These include:

The last thing I want to mention about Scared Plants isn't so much related to them, but I decided I'd mention it.
Some saplings show what they'll look like after planting. Others show their fully grown versions.
I explain this issue in more detail in this bug report:

So that was the last idea I had. Thank you for reading this post.

Somebody needs to fix the wiki, then.

Also, if frogs leave Wurt alone, maybe geothermites should leave Webber alone? They're arachnids.

Edit: Wickerbottom calls them insects. That throws the mite thing into question.

I think it’s more of an immune system response by the constant like how during a full moon heads on sticks, have their eyes open and when you hammer them, they drop nightmare fuel

What about instead of worms moths and they're like butterflies but they go towards light so if you have a lantern they will fly on you and eating there wings decreases sanity but gives like the same amountod health as butterfly wings oh and they only come out during dusk and night amd go back during the day
