Pe Dabliu Posted October 15, 2025 Share Posted October 15, 2025 (edited) After seeing some of the gameplay demos of the board game, I noticed a few differences and changes made to adapt don't starve to the new medium, but one of those changes caught my attention: Using the science machine as a repair station! I think that's something that could be added to the game, and would make the research stations something with more staying power and that we have more uses for after unlocking the recipes we need. Imagine if we could fuel them with something, nightmare fuel like in the game, or something else, like it it was done way back then with the research points, and use that fuel to repairs the itens that that machine could unlock. So like, alchemy engines could repair all science tier 2 itens, and a presti could repair tier 1 magic itens. I think with some proper implementation and a clever fuel system, this could be a really nice addition to the game. Imagine being able to fix that 1% log suit rather than burning it? I'm a sucker for QoL updates, and this is a crazy idea for the game that could be really nice. In DST they usually make life easier, but the point of QoL in convenience...
