The second player's data isn't being saved

We’ve been enjoying Don’t Starve Together on PlayStation 5 with my child, but recently we’ve encountered a strange issue.

When the second user logs in, the game keeps asking for user agreement consent repeatedly.

Also, instead of loading previously saved data for 2nd player, it starts a brand new player every time.

yes I have the same problem. I think it was brought by the newest hotfix, I have play a new game with my friend over 90 game days, It was ok since yesterday, but my character was reset and I have to recreate my character when back from cave to ground, this is terrible, so sad😭😭

I upgraded to PS5 version and this same bug happened to me too, so it's still a problem.

We haven't been able to reproduce this problem here so I'm not able to try to fix it, but I do have a theory about what's going wrong for you.

It seems like the second player's save data might be damaged and is failing to save/load because of that, and the dialogs around that might not be showing properly because of being second player.

Can you try changing the main user to the one who is usually second, and starting the game using their account. Is their save data being loaded correctly in this case?

that's right. second player's save data is damaged.

after deleted it, symtom is disappeared.

but my daughter is sad. she lost all skill points.

@Gomdang I believe skill points are backed up to the Klei servers (also recipes, compendium, and some other things) so she shouldn't have lost those

I just got this issue today after not having this problem today. on a server that has played for 950+ days.
we get periodic crashes and and have to rollback a couple of times every real day we play. but now all of a sudden player 2 sudden has to sign the end user agreement and this also covers up the option to load player from a backup. when the end user agreement is signed or declined this menu also disappears. so it is impossible to load the player from a back up.
the crashes happens more often on the monkey island and there is a beefalo that is on pearls island and the bell is on monkey island. (we can't get it's bell because the game crashes, but we learned to live around this- we get enough papyrus elsewhere)

we sent crash reports via playstation, with i think, video of the last moments before the crashes. the last one has a message about "failed save player > damaged file" or something like that. so you should get access to these crash reports and you can look for more reports from the same user.

it happend after a crash and a rollback, but i dont think it was anything special compared to what has happend before.
this is on ps4

I am having this same issue, on ps5 version. The second character’s save data occasionally gets lost after disconnecting from the server, deleting the character completely and making my partner have to create a new character. Inventory, map and skill points all gone. I hope this can be fixed, as it is a pretty significant issue from a gameplay experience when it occurs.

Good lord. Map and skill points is rough but losing an entire inventory is game breaking.
