Frosty_Mentos
As characters like Wurt have the ability to build a pretty much overwhelming army of merms, I think we should get a generally good way to tame/summon creatures we hire at hand for specific amount of time or before they die. We got two things we can use - rabbit king and ancient pseudoscience station, or ancient chest. We give them tribute by paying them a cost of certain resources, they give us a way to store our units before springing them into action. Bunnymen are basically meant to be used as a unit for battle, a mediocre one but high damage but something we could use as strategy to fight bosses like dragonfly or else without building housing. Collect them at their underground home by paying them carrots, order them to stay "idle", as in "stored" in the security contract like item. Clockworks are weird. They're useful bait in ruins to use against their own kind due to agroing as they're 'out of their line' or something, but I always wished for an army of bishops to be utilized in places like farms or shooting down enemies from certain locations when deployed. Klei mentioned them wanting more of something done with creatures already living in the world, this could be one of those cases where I propose some more interaction and creative use of them without burdening the player with overcomplicated setups. TL;DR Something similar to how you buy contracts from pig major in Hamlet, but the creature would vanish and be summoned like from pig king event tokens. Clockworks would compact themselves via certain ancient tools for player to carry with ease, relocate them into places you want them to be in. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/167761-hired-arms-contracts-we-could-purchaseruined-clockwork-summons/ Share on other sites
Beetrice
Interesting idea. I feel like a Rook summon would completely invalidate the point of the Terramites, though, and a Bishop summon would make the Houndius Shooticus even more worthless. Rooks are extremely destructive and can kill off your own allies really quick. Bishops don't have that much of a giant range and durability as houndius and require extra steps on keeping them safe. Generally clockworks are suicidal when it comes to combat, which kinda sucks, that's why when I gather them as an army I try never having any rooks by killing them off.
