I'm completely on board with the effect of moving Pearl, though we did lose the cute shells that plugged up lunar fissures in return. It's not a big loss on the potentional moving her brung. It's a nice touch having her around your base, especially when playing with other players.

I'm just thinking the setup of the fight, it doesn't feel all that fitting. I think the setup for it could have been executed better (especially showing pearl the map of the Constant, it just leaves more questions than answers).

It’s fine, pearl needed a better home anyway.

This was always a weird bit for me to wrap my head around, pearl, a lonely old crab living on a crummy island in the middle of nowhere is going to get no visitors unless we decide to go there. Her moving to a nicer location as a decision of the player is great, and wagstaff doing something morally objectionable is in line with who he is as well.

I get it, people don't like that pearls island gets destroyed for attachment based, decoration based and world altering based reasons, but I would argue it's a opportunity to make pearl a nicer home, closer to the player, with actual visitation outside of once a year.

Ultimately if changes are made, I am indifferent, if people are happy then that is great, then they can move on to talk about something more pertinent like changes to the game early on or world building like biomes and what not.

It would be nice to have a better way to farm scraps.

It has become an useful material for many stuff (CC, Warbis, Wobot, repair kit, Elastispacer, Walter's electric ammo, etc), yet the only decent way to farm it is either playing Winona or spending days on the junkyard (which is annoying considering Scrappy shares CD with Nightmare Werepig). I will even bet that scrap will also become an important ingredient for Warly's and Wx-78 skill tree upgrades, so it will be even harder to farm if that happens.

I would love to have it as an actual craft using gears and wires, probably demanding a new station. This could easily be Wagstaff's new table or the Junkyard itself.

it's moreso the issue of just glassing one of the only cool spots to base on the ocean. I like Pearl, and I'm glad she can move to mainland, but her island was the only fun place to build on the ocean for me. Moonquay is awful because of the constant junk from portal and monkey raids. And lunar comes with the annoying filter and gestalts.

I just don't find it cool to erase something that's been in the game for years. You'll never see klei do this to pig king or the oasis pond. There was no warnings that it would be a dangerous flattened spot in the future.

Willow can get away with more shenanigans by farming and spamming Embers. After realizing this and deviating from all the video guides the fight has been fun to prepare for.

Now it feels a bit like Dragonfly where people are adamant about using a Pan Flute even though at this point of the game they almost certainly could do perfectly fine without it.

this post is about setting up for warbot fight, not the fight itself

Oh. Yes, it is fine. It doesn't involve any grind aside from getting Embers. A small number of healing items and Void Repair Kits is good to have but it doesn't require any grind since I would have farmed those anyway.

You don't need Embers to fight Warbot. You need Phasmo-Encapsulators.

(Do you need to craft more Warbot parts each time? Wiki isn't clear and I've no intention of ever fighting this boss to check.)

Well, those parts aren't super exciting to collect, no, but that is solved in the normal manner: just bring a lot of crafting materials in one go for future use. At least that is how I play. In the Atrium I keep an extra set of Brightshade gear and Brightshade Repair Kits lying around together with healing items. If I had to bring and carry them back each time I go there to fight I would go bonkers. :biggrin-new: Smaller local crafting stations and storage is underrated.

That just means you're doing a lot of grinding at once.

It depends. The biggest time sink when farming certain items can simply be getting them between different locations, which sometimes can be minimized if you carry them in bulk or leave them in place until they make up a bigger stack which warrants transportation (when passing by Salt Formations I mine them but then I leave the salt crystals to be collected much later). For now it feels more organic than not to farm W.A.R.B.O.T. materials. There is a small tedium but it's not that bad. Of course, this is subjective. Come to think of it, I was very lucky to have Pearl's Island easily accessible on the world I play on the most. It would be slightly more annoying having to ferry said items across the map and ocean.

Panflute is too easy a way.

Just spawn the scrappy werepig and have him throw trash at you indefinitely. That's how I usually get scrap and I never ever need more than what I gather.

But about the post itself, it's almost no grind at all, by that point the only thing I really need to get are salt and nitre which can both be massively farmed in seconds and it's something that I always already gather previously so it's whatever. One trip to the lunar island and one grazer is enough to fill the encapsulators and the scrap is also something that I farm previously when I fight the scrappy werepig. I was actually surprised by how quickly I got to fight him the first time. The fight itself is what took me a bit longer to learn and manage the arena and stuff. I took a reeeally long time (more than I would want to admit) to realize that I had to stand behind the pillars in the scion atomic attack, and to learn how to dodge the air stomp of the warbot since I was constantly trying to run away from it.

And as @Captain_Rage said, the fight is just kind of a breeze with a bunch of embers, you can destroy all terramites at once with a single lunar blast, and bernie will tank a lot more than you would expect in the first phase.

Yeah I know, its one of the methods I mentioned on the comment itself, the main issue with that method is that it shares CD with Nightmare Werepig.  If you are playing solo I guess that you can just do that once and be done with it after farming like 3 stacks of scraps. But if you are playing with multiple people its a whole deal. In early-mid game almost everyone wants Nightmare's loot or scrap for things like electric fences, you can also get the electric fence blueprint from the junkpiles, but the easiest way is to just kill Scrappy, and this means that he usually won't stay alive for long after he respawns. I don't think it would be "gamebreaking" to just have another way to get scraps, like idk, a "gears+wire+glass" craft or something.

Sure but, not everyone wants to play with Willow? And theres plenty of characters that can have an easier time against it, like Maxwell, Winona (catapult cheese), Woodie with his Treeguards, or Wurt with like 40+ merms.  My issue is with the scrap in general, not with the fight, I think the fight itself is awesome, I main Walter and I can already solo it pretty easily, it has a decent learning curve for what is essentially one of the "final" bosses, took me a lot of tries for sure but once you learn it the fight itself isn't that hard

I respectfully disagree with you, because I think scrap is in a great spot. Would be cool if they added more ways to get it? yeah, but it depends. For me, if Klei were to change anything about it, at the very least make it mildly more available. I don't want scrap to turn into moon glass, since there's enough for 6 people constantly and multiple ways to get it (lunar grotto, lunar island boulders and springs, celestial champion fight, glass rain etc..) It kind of removes a bit of the fun in gathering it (like how gold gets stupidly available after a ruins clear).
