Hello, I don't know if this topic has been opened before.

Thulecite Suit requires 50% more thulecite than crown and has 50% more durability.

All body armors (except thulecite suit and warbis) require more resources, but they are exactly the same as head armour durability, why?

The logic here is like in Minecraft you have to use like 5 iron ingots to have helmet and 8 to make body suit

But Minecraft chestplates do have higher durability than helmets. (And also armor value, which is not important here.)

Perhaps it's because their effects are different. The crown can offer you a special protective effect and withstand intense attacks. Taking this into account, its durability is actually higher than the latter.

Yes, this could be why the Crown's durability is lower than the Thulecite Suit. However, the dreadstone armor has the same stats as the helmet, even though it doesn't have any special effect.

I wouldn't want the dreadstone suit to have higher durability, if you wear both the dreadstone helmet and suit you get double the armour regen to start with then the damage is split between both armours but because both armours are regenerating you actually have functionally x4 armour regen compared to just using the helmet alone. That is the advantage of crafting and using the dreadstone suit, the 4x regen when paired with the helmet.

If dreadstone suit had extra durability the helmet would break before the suit and it just wouldnt be convenient, the percentage durability would be different as you take damage, it would be a mess.

Dreadstone gear is designed to be used together while other armour sets are not.

remember, head gear armor is always superior to body armor consider you dont need to take off your backpack, you ususally have less time to regen armor

I'm a big advocate for body armours, if you don't bring a backpack around you can freely swap between armour and insulation clothing, wearing both beefalo hat and buffy vest gives massive insulation also when swapping the buffy vest out for armour, you atleast still have the beefalo hat. Thermal stones are for noobs, the time you save being able to carry extra items you lose needing to stand around to heat up the thermal stone every few minutes.

Miner hat/moggles are vastly superior to lanterns or to a lesser degree star caller staffs. Body armour allows the use of better light sources.

Backpacks are useful for first autumn exploration, otherwise body armour/clothing vastly boosts convenience. Beefalo hat + raincoat + lantern makes exploring caves in the winter a breeze.

Chester and hutch provide more than enough inventory space.

Although one of Walter S-tier perks is woby's extra storage space which allows him to exploit the awesomeness of body equipment without sacrificing inventory slots. Hence why I main him.

Characters with unique inventory solutions are quite rare. For example, Wanda has to use a bag, so you can only wear dreadstone armor in combat. For many characters, I'd like armor that can only be worn in combat and is more expensive than a helmet to be more durable.

Chester and Hutch is not included in the topic because it is an item that only 1 person can own.
