,,,,,, i think someone should get a pair of nautopilots and some electric fences together

You cant make fences across different boats anyway.

Though, feels weird crab king is the exception, i thought him being immune to electric would be a good addition since having high dps in the fight basically disables it.

Pretty sure he's just wearing one

Yeah but that would protect him obviously.

When we wear scrap armour, raincoats ect we get lightning protection.

really? i thought as long as they stay in range of each other they'd be fine

also crab kind is a Big Wet Boi. makes sense to me he'd be able to be shocked. if pokemon has taught me anything a wet rock is still  shockable

Crab King has unique shock states both when "inert" (not enough gems plugged, can't combat him), and when in combat. It seems very intended given the unique states and handling.

but he is a giant rock so I feel like he isn’t meant to

He's still a crab similar to the other smaller crabs he summons. He's just using all those rocks as a fortress and armor basically (I don't mean that technically in-game as he just has a big health pool, not actual armor, but yeah). Floating on the ocean probably doesn't help.

The crabs are rocks too. If wearing insulators as players works, it would make sense for them too.

Dunno, they're not entirely made of rocks. Klei might need to revise and clarify some cases.

Currently only Rock Lobsters in the caves are the only rock-based creature that is outright immune.

Not only that but "scrap armor/armour" (W.A.R.B.I.S. armor) is machine-based, and machine entities (except clockworks) are immune to electric damage as of the update.

In the case of rain coats, I don't know how that's comparable to rocks.

Yeah it's a bit weird how you're completely immune to electric shocks with it I suppose? But it's been established for a long while that that's the case in Don't Starve, Rain Coats, Rain Hats, and similar gear, don't provide armor, but have other utilities against weather (and electricity).

Regardless, I guess we'll see in which direction they take things, it's good to point out things like this (and like in another thread, how there's some inconsistencies with what's considered wet or not even if it's floating or swimming in the ocean).

There is that bug where the electric effect doesn't move with the boat, though. You could leave a bunch of phantom fences over the towers, etc.

I imagine that won’t exist.

(also electric effect actually doesn’t work on the towers which makes this make even less sense)
