DST's dev team secret message

Is it possible the devs titled this update "Hostile Takeover" in reference to the tencent acquisition and that was why they didn't have all the time they wanted to work out this update?

 

Anyways, I've noticed there is no current Shadow Arc to contrast the Lunar Arc. Current Lunar arc after the Lunar Rifts open are:

1. Kill the Lunar-mutated Boss trio
2. Relocate Pearl
3. Obtain Gestalts and fight the WARBOT

It's not alot, but it's a few things to do that Shadow Rift does not quest the player for

My theory right now, is that the Lunar Arc & Shadow Arc are to setup for the coming up combined Arc that requires items from completing both arcs. (Glove/Clipboard for 1 and something from Charlie, or maybe the player chooses which Rift to further mutate, like if sacrificing Wagstaff makes a Charlie superpowered, idk)

No.

The release of the update was listed as part of the klei fest in a deal klei had with VALVE, it had to come out (happy june by the way), either they wanted it or not.

Dude.. for 4 months there’s been no content update for DST, Klei has literally had FOUR MONTHS to work on this Update, they use to do an update Once Per Month.. this has had plenty of time to “cook” the truth is they likely just took time off and then “crunched it in at the last moment” If they knew 4 months ago they would be releasing an update that lines up with Klei Fest, the update should had went into Beta earlier and been completed a month earlier then released as normal but with a full month to “polish up”

Not to mention that June is suppose to be around the time we should get Midsummers Cawnival (and that’s also MiA)

"the update should had went into Beta earlier" it did. It was released in a rough, early state with only the first phase of the final battle and a few items so they could get as much feedback on controller support as possible, IIRC.

I think the last skill tree spotlight might've gotten a little in the way of this update's development, since I recall them saying they had to "juggle updates" while they were still working on the skill trees. That, and they had to release this one early due to Klei Fest (they might've been obligated by Steam/Valve to release it on the 12th, though don't take my word for it).

I'm just wondering, did they know? Were they caught off-guard by the June 12th release date? If they knew, then why didn't they let us know in advance that the beta was gonna have to end sooner so it could be released in time for Klei Fest?

What bothers me the most about this update is that the Klei fest 2024 was on June 21, 2024, but the major update for that "Staying Afloat," was on June 28, 2024, so then there was no need to time the major update for Klei fest.

I think it's dishonesty to us that they don't explain this in detail whether it's the contract with Steam or whatever.

I am always fascinated by the ability of people on the internet, to make up a narrative on their head, thats not only false and outlandish, but showcases how little do they know about the topic the seem to be a full on expert on, for the only porpuse of getting angry, efectevely at nothing, and get other people angry about it.

If there was ever a case for this sentence, i has to be this, please go touch grass, it will make you good I promise.
