I noticed missiles deal aoe dmg in a small area. Why not use 3-4 star caller staffs but put each dwarf star with a small gap between each other so they cannot be destroyed all at once? Would save a lot of rocks for thermal stones. Have anyone tried that?

That could work, but I imagine they'd still be quickly all extinguished. But it could work if you could get through the phase fast enough.

I was thinking about spamming brightshade bombs- each one deals 200 planar dmg and you can throw a lot of them in quick session.

The missiles attack multiple targets at once

so by doing this it would only take 2 missile shots to clear them all, not 4

Boss shoots 3 missiles each time - if we put dwarf stars in a gaps it will remove 3 stars per wave - ???

Has anyone tried to use a polar staff in the middle of the arena with a cold thermalstone on themselves.

since the missiles are targeting the warmest target and you are colder than anything else, shouldnt the missiles ignore you?

I tried and it didn't work.

Too bad 😕

But I wonder how its coded, if it doesnt use the body temp stat?

Does this work like saladmanders and is simply looking for what the game considers as a heatsource and if there isnt any it will target you?

It's not a cheap solution, but I think it's fair because it's a late game that is to make about 30 thermal stones and put them side by side. I get 100% without worrying about the missiles, and I dedicate all attention to his other attacks. But each one has its gameplay stylus, of course.

There should be something that wont be destroyed by the missles but would require more effort to get.
Something like icker jar, if you could lit it on fire and it wouldve burned for longer and couldnt be destroyed.
Icker jar makes sense because it is from shadow rifts/ickers that have strong defense, the blob reminds me of ink and certain types of inks are flammable.

It would be nice if the easier way of completing the lunar side would be to push us to do the shadow side as well, also it would give icker jars more uses
(idk if you can lit Ickers on fire, but it could be easier way to get rid of them, of course without any loot and maybe they could spawn a temporary miasma on death)

I suppose the cheapest is probably a willow spamming fireballs around as soon as they are put out, then?

I am afraid the cooldown is too long and there wont be much time during the fight for it.

I myself popped 2 star callers worth of stars (while saving them at 5%). At the point you fight the boss at, you should have enough resources to reasonably expend 2 star callers consistently without being super expensive. As long as you quickly get it out of the phase where it spams the missle attack, you shouldn’t have too much trouble.

I have like 6 star callers prepared, and 40 planar bombs to skip the spamming phase as fast as possible

use god mode, no seriously, stupid things need stupid solutions, if not that try gun powder, farm alot of gun powder and blow him up with the 40 stacks of gunpowders one after another

Talking about stupid solutions, spamming throwable torches as a Wilson to avoid missiles is a great way to use your twigs and grass, sadly your temperature needs to be lower than usual.

Warbot has planar defense and a natural 25% resistance to physical attacks, so stacks of gunpowder are severely reduced. You are much better off trying to use brightshade bombs if you plan to speed through certain segments, as the poster mentioned

OP torch tree strikes again.

im gonna be devil's advocate and propose using fire gembells as Wolfgang to start fires + few fire staff shots and a bunch of trees/decently flammable items on the ground.
worked very well, with single throw and few fire staff targets you can push through missile phase with damage quite well

Stacks of gunpowder would not perform well against a boss with planar protection.

Now brightshade bombs on the other hand... you'd only need to throw 12 (or 11 bombs + 50 damage) to get past the missile spam phase (and then again for the other missile spam phase).
