I think they are a pretty neat idea.

Just as some info for everybody: They seen to stop when they have grown out 12 vines at each side. They do grow vines on constructed tiles and they do grow around corners and ceilings.

Food output for a fully grown one is 2600 kcal/cycle for a domesticated one and 650 kcal/cycle for a wild one. Pretty reasonable, I think. A space-efficient pattern seems to be this one (repeat horizontally, and/or vertically):

The number of 650 kcal per vine per interval is wrong though. Seems the originally dropped two figs.

I'm currently racking my brains over this. The vine on the right did indeed stop growing at 12 cells, but for some reason the vine on the left stopped growing at the 5th cell.
I tried pruning the damaged parts, just like with real houseplants, but no matter how many times I try, it always seems to stop growing at this point.
(The thick, curled tip seems to indicate the end of growth.)

There must be some condition for the pip to plant a seed, but the rules don't seem to be clear yet.

Actually, the bottom left door is in exactly the same condition as the other doors because the screenshot was taken right after Dup passed through it. The bottom right door also has a generator on the other side, so Dup passes through it frequently, so the conditions are almost the same.
I still have no idea what the problem is...image.png.9d57167b8c63b62e091f847313acb1a5.png
