I mean i get why people are upset about this. Pearls island is iconic and some people decorated her island, but i think thats the point. Wagstaff is trowing this old woman out of her house and turning it into a warzone, you are supposed to feel bad about this. Also wagstaff being straight up evil and the survivors either being clueless or just not caring is kinda funny.

But why did she have to go to the moonquay? It makes doing the pearl quests or going to trade with her or whatever else so annoying. I know most people dont turn the rifts on at the start and cant get the boss without completing the quests but its still an issue.

They should probably add a new island for her and add new mostly none hostile creatures in it( i suggest seamerms ) and place scrap around it and other stuff. This would also be good for adding new quests like:

Change the turf

Destroy the abandoned junk

"Remove" the seamerms/any other creatue they decide to add

Relocate the marotter nests

I think this would be the best of both worlds. Maybe doing every task would also give you a new blueprint like "pearls trident" or maybe even pearls house

In fact, I completely agree with you, it's much better if the "artwork" causes you sad emotions than if it doesn't cause any. In any case, if she moves to another island or mainland, it won't be so bad, if she goes to the mainland, we can visit her more often, and if she has a separate island, she can relax without those buzzing shells.

I don't think she will be there permanently. I imagine later on in the beta, if you visit Pearl again she will ask you for a better place to live, allowing you to choose.

I do like the player gets to see the repercussions of Wagstaff being a horrible person, and I hope that him treating Pearl like this does not get changed

I hope they'll add an option to relocate her house wherever you want, that way you could atleast have a roommate in your base.

(It might clash with the ideals of dont starve being lonely, but finally having a friend after a long questline like this could be fun.)
