Obviously spoilers ahead

The newest boss added by this beta, the W.A.R.B.O.T is one of the hardest bosses added to dst and personally I like it a lot

however I feel some of the things surroundind the boss need another look mainly the missiles mechanics

the biggest problem with the boss in it’s current state is how the missiles interact with thermal stones, when the world temperature is high enough thermals become next to impossible to make hot enough for missiles to target them over you

This affects the first half of autumn for years beyond the first as well as summer

Also I feel the balancing of gestalt drones could be given a look as I personally find that Grazers are both more fun/interactive to avoid and much easier

Also my bad for not including this in the post but I think requiring 7 crown shards makes ths summoning process fairly tedious

Definitely agree on the missile mechanics, there needs to either be a reliable way of making "distractions" against them so that they don't always target you or a way to just straight up dodge them, somehow.

I also think requiring you to beat the final boss of the lunar questline TWICE to even challenge this boss is a terrible idea. As of now, every boss could be challenged once to get all their drops (with the exception of toadstool) so after getting them you could simply chose to move on with other stuff you want to do. Repeating the bosses for additional loot was never a problem, it was just something people who are playing on lategame worlds choose to do, you were rewarded for beating them again but never punished for not doing so. The new boss requiring you to beat the final boss of the lunar questline TWICE is a very bad idea, locking content in such a way is not a good idea, it creates artificial walls for players who just want to progress by introducing GRINDING needed to even challenge a boss, meanwhile up to this point "grinding" bosses was just an activity for lategame players who wanted more of their loot. I think the boss itself looks cool, it could be a really great boss once it's in a little bit more polished state, but the summoning cost of 7 shards for it needs to either be completely changed or we need a new, more accessible way of obtaining shards.

@landromatit just extinguishes the twigs and this method is far too slow for the speed it fires missiles, you need to have it distracted long enough to deal 3k damage and thermals are the only non extinguishable option

I don’t actually know for Burning Bernie yet but I’ll get back to you

I really like this boss and his telegraphed attacks its different from most other bosses in the game and i really like it. I'll have to wait until it's full ready and completed until i make up my mind but so far its very cool

I like this boss, I agree with the missile attack.

My first thought to dodge the missile attack was getting below the boss, so the missiles would hit it instead. I think the attack could be reworked into a big knockback and having to sprint back towards the boss, having 1 or 2 heat sources (instead of 4-5 like we need now) would give the player enough time to get below it and force it to cancel the attack. This way you'd only need 2-4 starcallers uses per fight in summer.

Another Idea I had was to use a snurtle shell or a bush hat (this would be a very cool interaction for very niche items, specially the bush hat that would put you in a risky situation without resorting to body armor).

Speaking of his attacks, I don't like the giant laser too much. It'd be neat if we could block it with the umbralla! Drain some (maybe like 33%) of its durability each time it blocks one.

And finally the minions, you can telelocate them away from the island! I hope klei leaves that interaction, because to be fair, the whole fight is about outsmarting the darn machine.

Using a bush hat to hide from the missiles? That's sounds like it'd be a fun strat to use. Although, wouldn't your body still be giving off heat even while disguised? Eh, as long as it loosely makes sense, I think it'd be fine.

@Juanasdfanother thing I think could in intuitively implimented is letting the players coldness help them hide from the missiles

by either using a chilled amulet, a refrigerant circuit as Wx, or just having a cold thermal on you

These were strats I tried out before finding out how its attacks worked. Still would be neat to have them implemented. IMO the more options you have for a fight, the better.
