Cuernito.
We have lunar grotto and archives which are like lunar power invading shadow territory, but what about the oposite? i think an early game shadow boss that can only be found in the ocean would be funny. Imagine a shadow mermaid or sea witch that only spawns in a new place within the ocean, and in this place there are shadow geysers (like shadows coming from the deep trying to invade lunar territory), and in this fight you have to use special boats-plataforms that only spawn here, it could be a good ocean fight even recycling the geyser attack from the old CK. I imagine this fight like a combination of the Gorgun from enter the gungeon and the Onyxia from titan souls, with plataforms that the player needs to use like boats to attack the boss and this plataforms can be destroyed by a geyser attack from the boss(with new plataforms spawning after a while to replace the others), and the boss is not static in one place cause that's boring, instead the boss moves really slow when on the surface and when she is hiding under the water during some attacks she moves fast like a serpent. I had this idea cause i think all the ocean bosses right now are boring as hell, and im talking about the only 2 ocean bosses, the CK and the malbatross, cause you know the CC and the frostjaw are not really ocean bosses, they have their own islands and you arent using the boat mechanics to kill them so with this sea witch we could have at least 3 ocean bosses and this shadows boss can be accesible from the very start unlike CK and Malbatross. nicolas103
My 1st thought when reading was a fight similar to Quacken just with a big Wavey Jones. I actually do hope we get more Shadow bosses in general, and more Ocean Bosses, of course. Mike23Ua
Those weird shadow plants we see when low on sanity out at sea, those always felt “out of place” to me because in general I prefer to link plants with the Lunar side since the whole Deadly Brightshades ordeal, what I’d like to see for the shadow side wouldn’t necessarily be “bosses” (the game has enough of those already and we sincerely don’t need more secluded bosses crammed away in an obscure boss zone) instead what I’d like to see is the return of Shipwrecked mobs Lochness, and that cool bubbling tar monster, give them cool attacks (such as Tar monster flinging Tar at you and obscuring your vision like Skittersquid) I would prefer more common every day “adventure” type mobs, rather than another big scripted and secluded set piece. I never really saw them as plants. They felt more like tentacle-y sea monsters to me. On the topic of an ocean shadow boss... there was that unused silhouette for a giant sea monster. Would be neat if it belonged to some roving sea beast, although it might fit more as a Mr. Skits-type shadow creature; just something scary that passes under your boat when you're low on sanity. Now i think a good loot from the witch can be a blueprint to make a new item for the ocean related to shadows. The shadow compass: this item can acta like the sword of triton from blackbeard controling the boat, summoning tiny shadow hands to do all the action in the boat without you doing anything, even making all actions faster than normal, but if you want to use the compass you have to attach it to the boat creating a wicked living boat. When you attach the compass to the boat it gets a health boost and you lost 50 health points but after that the boat can be controled with the compass. You lose sanity per minut when on board (like a tiny sanity drain) and this compass can even plug holes temporarily with shadows hands, but if you do this you start losing a lot of sanity per minut during all the time the shadow plug last. And you can control the direction of the boat just facing that direction with your character. Finally this compass needs to be fueled with salty shadows (a new item to that combine salt with shadow) and it stops working if the player is 0 sanity. And because this is a cursed item you can't leave the boat with it, you need to drop it or put it in a chest but every time you do this the compass steal 50 points of your health. I got this idea because using a good boat feel clunky cause all the actions you have to control by yourself, i always prefer to just use a grass raft and a driftwood oar to explore the ocean and i would like to love the more complex boats but they feels bad to use, i hate to use the steeringwheel but with this magic the boat can feel a lot better to use.
