Tree tails and Battle paddle

Recommended Posts

Buff their damage to 51, and 68 respectively.

The whip's de-aggro thing does not manage to justify the piss poor damage, so please bring it up to a tentacle spike at least.

Considering the paddle is uncraftable and one of the highest reward of a pirate encounter, it absolutely deserves to match swords in damage.

I'd rather the graphically single tailed whip get cheaper, so people can actually use it without being subject to extreme pun costs, along with there being another genuinely suitable but not insane whip weapon (Since I wouldn't be a fan of a whip on par with the alarming clock being usable by everyone.)

That and the fencing sword getting a damage boost, given, its a slow weapon without a reach increase. Ideally it should have a slight reach advantage (half to a third of what a whip gives) and slightly more damage than a spear since its very slow attack speed makes the fencing sword punishing to use if you aren't an animation canceling god.

Weapons with slight reach adjustments like this would be great for helping players who are lagging compensate for their situation.
The paddle on the other hand has an obvious possible crafting recipe just looking at it, we just need some obscure way to get its secrets....
(Use a bad paddle while in a monkey disguise while acting as a member of a monkey crew?  OOOK ook take this don't use that trash.)

I think it's okay for three tails to cost 3 raccoon tails given theres basically nothing of interest to craft with racoon tails

fencing sword is more of a tool, it lost any hope of serious combat use the moment klei accepted the community's idea of giving it a jab animation (bad)

Paddle should stay a uncraftable novelty.

Weapons with bad animations like the cork bat that have valid uses are the coolest thing klei could do with the combat at this point.
Running around in circles murdering 30 innocent creatures for a weapon which is gimmicky is the biggest issue with these weapons, as core weapons like the hambat pretty much grow on trees after you have spider meat. (+ Dark swords actually grow in trees.)

Also, something you can only learn by playing wonkey and roleplaying IS A novelty. Like, it involves a bizzare survival challenge/roleplay as a secret character to get, which would be such a unique and memorable interaction to have.

I really REALLY wish the whip had some work done on it, but people will very much hate it and everything about 'longer ranged weapons' cause 'too broken' or something. We had this whole forums on fire with existence of Wanda for years. Prepare for high push back. Can't have fun in games anymore.

People have pivoted to only being upset with increased ranged weapons when they are your best choice at least.
Mind you, the threshold for "best choice" varies from being just a very good choice to a modestly good choice....

I'm a strong supporter for more awkward stabby weapons like the fencing sword falling between the whip and the standard pummelers in terms of range and damage.

More texture and feel to weapons like what the cork bat introduced is the biggest thing I want with the weapons....
The basic whip being weak but inexpensive I can understand, since, it adds more texture to low tech weapons.

The fencing sword being a downgrade to its ingredients feels like an insult.
