Pig heads on full moons dropping nightmare fuel doesn't really make sense

Recommended Posts

The lore of DST is full of contradictions from the changing narrative over time. Pig heads dropping nightmare fuel on full moons makes sense when full moons are connected to the shadows, but this is no longer the case. I think this interaction is cool, so rather than removing it to fit the new canon, what if pig heads instead dropped pure brilliance? I think it's a fun idea to have a resource that exists as a non-renewable pre-rift and becomes renewable in the rifts. Besides, it really doesn't mess with balance. All it does is let players make a brightsmithy, bright boxer, and brilliant mudslinger, since other brightshade crafts cost rift materials.

I think this is probably a love it or hate it idea.

It's a nice idea however I know some people depend on these to get a shadow manipulator early on, and this comes at no benefit since like you said this serves no purpose other than some ultra-specific character-only crafts

also pure brilliance is made of lunar gems so this doesn't really make any more sense than the previous flaw

If full moons transformed merm heads into solid pure brilliance (reminiscent of the mudslinger!) for the duration of the full moon, this would be more balanced with there being less merm heads in the world than pig heads.
