Any way to reset gestalt abi into normal abi if moonstorms are perpetually active?

There seems to be no alternative besides celestial portal. I proposed players should be able to revert abby from her gestalt form by interacting with a moon dial constructed in the caves. After all, maintaining continuous moon storms has become a fairly common strategy in multiplayer.

Tbh celestial portal is a fair enough way to get around this if you have reached moonstones. Don't see any major issues here

Hi there. Just sharing some thoughts from a world-immersion perspective.

Abby's form deeply tie to lunar phases, but using portals for character switching essentially relies on the underlying mechanism of 'deleting part of the character's data and regenerating it.' This conflicts with the established lore that form should be influenced by moon phases, disrupting the immersion through such operation.

If developers allow form-switching via moon dial, it shows their intention for players to manage states through environmental interaction rather than relying on a metagaming approach. Portals as reset tools should serve to switch experiential perspectives between characters, not to patch up mechanical flaws in a single character's design.

Going with the lore. Gestalt abigail shouldn't be allowed to switch back during a moonstorm when the moon is at its most powerful, which is what it is at the minute. So I would argue against this thread from a lore point of view.

Atleast we can force a change if needs be using the portal.

Except that the moon has little influence in the caves outside of the lunar grotto. The caves belong to the shadows, even during moonstorms.

My proposal: we get the ability (for all characters) to toss a thulecite medallion into a moondial in the caves. This corrupts it to the shadow side and makes it instead display the nightmare cycle, but it also lets Wendy turn Gestalt Abigail back into normal Abigail when the cycle is at its peak.

Tbh I don't see why any Wendy player would want to swap back to normal abigail, especially in the late game when you can spam out distilled vengeance to give gestalt abigail AOE damage.

Altho your idea is good.

Well... perhaps I should point out that "feed her to great depths worm" isn't an out-of-place quip because people seem to think it is? Doing so will turn gestalt Abigail back into normal Abigail. Although, obviously this is a bug.

Neat idea, but I would make it be a pure horror

Simple abigail is best for normal usage, it also feels the best due to familiarity

Gestalt is mostly something I want to use sparingly

Good enough for me

Any way to keep a depth worm domesticated in my megaworld

Why don't you want to use celestial portal? Seems less complicated than depth worm.

A thing eating abi would be faster than going through a load menu, changing perks, and picking dropped items

Every single morsel of convenience becomes infinitely valuable in megabase context

That's the whole point of megabasing for me: maximizing convenience, coziness and vibes

Well, maybe Wendy isn't the best character to be playing if your planning for maximizing convenience when megabasing? Wormwoods bramble husk can be spammed out an replaces the need to have Abigail.

Wurt has seasonal fish and sticky grip allowing for 100% weather immunity. Better choice than Wendy. Lunar merms have AoE to deal with hordes.

Wanda can create a massive teleport network, Better than Wendy.

Walter has increased inventory space allowing better use of body slot items for better seasonal immunity with less downsides, has fastest ground movement with lunar woby, has AoE damage/slowdown abilities. Immunity to nighttime/cave sanity drain making it far easier to megabase in caves. Better than Wendy.

Winona has her own teleport network. Catapults can automate every raid bosses. Better than Wendy

Wendy isn't that great of a choice for late game megabase convenience. So you are telling me that the 30secs it takes to change skill and repick up items is too much to turn off gestalt abigail but a depth worm is ok? A furnace beside the portal allows you to burn any duplicate character items that spawn that you don't want.

Celestial portal is the only solution that's needed for this very niche problem.

Barely any character comes close in terms of convenience and vibes as Wendy

She's underrated in megabasing

Most other characters surpass Wendy's convenience if you are experienced enough to megabase. Wendy pretty much boils down to convenient AOE damage, which is amazing early game but loses out in the late game to catapults/bramble husks that every character can access not to mention more characters have their own AOE damage now.

Wendy has nice vibes ill give you that but she has little actual convenience for experienced players at all stages of the game.

She's great for noobs who are chilling in your megabase tho. Both gestalt or normal abigail can deal with hounds for them regardless.

This is a misconception, and basically this meme

Wendy is great for new players, yes, but after you become good at the game and you start bossing with abigail you realize just how fun and powerful and convenient and flavorful it is to play as Wendy. Playing wolfgang bossing is super bland in comparison.

Keeping abi alive vs bosses is a very rewarding minigame

Quakez for instance won a speedrun tourny as wendy vs maxwell and woodies

Controlling abigail during a boss fight is not "flavourful". I would rather let abigail die and continue fighting a boss with 0.75x and just take an extra couple mins to kill a boss than need to look after an extra hp bar cause that is tedious. Thankfully sisturn 3, gestalt abigail and ghastly potion can make abigail last longer if you are like me and prefer to just let her tank and die during boss fights.

Now that both Wendy and Willow's skilltrees are out, I can definitely say without a doubt that Willow is the better character in terms of gameplay diversity, power and convenience. The most dangerous mobs that you need crowd control for are shadow creatures, the fact willow has the option to use burning bernie (or regular bernie with lunar flame support) to tank kill hordes and hordes of shadow creatures during the nightmare phase makes willow better. The fact abigail can't target shadows makes Big Bernie > Abigail.

Right now Willow is the more convenient character overall for any experienced player. Someone may be able to speedrun as Wendy but strict, fast as possible, speedrunning isn't fun for the average person. Takes someone with overly obsessive tendencies to actually enjoy doing that regularly.

Idk why you're talking about Wolfgang or speedrunning in response though, the context Gashzer is mentioning is megabasing. I'm sure Wendy is fine and fun and all, but she's not exactly going to be competitive with Maxwell/Wurt/Winona/Wanda when it comes to megabasing benefits. Which is A-OK to be clear some characters are more suited to earlygame than lategame and vice versa.
