Beta - Adding extra sources for crops during runs

The meals system is a great addition to the players progression, but its reliance on purely out-of-run interactions could cause them to be forgettable and ignored after its introduction.
It would be nice to see some mid-run methods as another source for gathering crops, these could be something like the following.


Gorged Zucco - Another rare encounter akin to the Teffrous and Gilded Zuccos, but clearly very well fed.
These would drop something like 4-8 of both the seed and crop matching the current hunt zone when killed.

Crop Anomaly - A new anomaly type that would replace environmental objects in the clearing with the zones plants.
These would require careful management of your positioning to prevent them getting broken by your or enemy attacks.
They would be harvestable when the room is cleared, giving their normal rewards.

Farm rooms - A new room type that would appear occasionally.
This room would have a variety of the crops available for purchase from a new NPC via teffra, corestones, or materials.

Foraging rooms - Another room type that would appear occasionally.
These rooms would have many of the hunts plants located in the middle, but harvesting them will lock the room and cause a "Survive" event to occur.

Foraging rooms and Farm rooms reminds me of Cult of Lamb Dungeons, when you can get free stuff or just not fight at all

Something similar to these two are already implemented in the Delicious Beta.  They're a rare room encounter similar to the two special zucco rooms (10 Golden Zuccos or 1 Golden Zucco + 5 Teffra Zuccos). 

The two new rare room encounters are:

  1. Farm Plots - Spawns a farm plot for each player with already harvestable crops.
  2. Loot Machine - Spawns a machine similar to the Spring Port which gives loot multiple times.

There is actually a third new rare room encounter, but it's currently disabled.  That one spawns 4 statues where 1 contains a large amount of loot, 2 contains a small amount of loot, and 1 contains monsters.

Likewise, there is a rare chance a shiny bush can replace a normal spawner bush (these are bushes that normally spawns monsters) similar to how there is a rare chance basic mobs can be replaced by a Golden or Teffra Zucco.  The shiny bush is destructible, but currently doesn't drop anything.  So, I assume it's unfinished, but imagine it'd have special drops in the future too.

The text on the sign was changed in Delicious Beta Patch #5.  The machine can spawn loot 2 to 4 times (once per hit).  Here is the loot distribution (per hit):

Teffra (50-80).........  0.0655%

The shiny bush now drops loot.  It shares the loot machine's loot pool, but drops loot only once (on hit).  So, the same loot distribution above applies.

Moreover, Delicious Beta Patch #5 added two more rare room encounters:

  1. Blood Shop - A market that sells Legendary Powers, but uses Health as a currency.  Current pricing is:
    - Legendary Power: 400 Health
    - Legendary Fabled Power: 600 Health
  2. Challenge Shrine - Gives you a challenge power.  The currently available challenge powers are:
    - Challenge Test:  Does nothing.
    - Painful Dodge: Take 20/20/20 Damage when you Dodge.  After clearing 5/5/5 rooms, gain 500/1000/1500 Teffra.
    - Painful Lights: Take 10/10/10 Damage when you Light Attack. After clearing 5/5/5 rooms, gain 500/1000/1500 Teffra.
    - Painful Heavies: Take 25/25/25 Damage when you Heavy Attack. After clearing 5/5/5 rooms, gain 500/1000/1500 Teffra.

The 4 statue room encounter mentioned in my previous post is still disabled.

EDIT (03/13/2025):  Another rare room encounter got added today in Delicious Beta Patch #6.  To avoid a consecutive post, I'll just add the info to this post instead.

  1. Power Exchange Groak Shrine - You offer a power that gets swallowed up by a Groak.  The Groak then spits out a new random power of the same rarity.  If you get swallowed by the Groak before it spits out a power, then the new power will instead be a random power of any rarity.

The loot table for the loot machine and shiny bush also got updated.  It's no longer super biased towards Rot spawns.  Here is the new distribution:

Teffra (50-80)......... 32.79%
Materials (3-5)........ 16.39%
Corestone..............  8.20%
Power..................  8.20%
Power Upgrade..........  4.92%
Potion.................  4.92%
Fortifying Ingot.......  4.92%
Unidentified Gem.......  3.28%

EDIT (03/19/2025): May as well keep adding info to this post.  Yesterday's Delicious Beta Patch #8 added two more rare spawns (similar to how Golden/Teffra Zucco can replace a basic mob or a Shiny Bush can replace a bush spawner):

  1. Injured Mothball: It spawns "downed". Revive it (like you would a downed player) and it'll come back as a Charmed Mothball for the rest of the Hunt (multiple chambers).
  2. Angry Meowl: It has 99% damage resistance and spawns asleep. If you wake it up, it'll enrage and attack anything in the room.  It'll also keep chasing you for 5/3/1 chambers.
