Couple of ideas how I think might make lune trees more interesting

Recommended Posts

Two types are either invasive species, or them spawning lunar moths around them as they would only stay alive and spawn from trees if they remain within range as well as providing nectar for the nearby bees to want to swarm on them, while invasive type instead would make them spread and grow into very close proximity of tiles they can grow in.

This sorta ideas is as alternative source of wood that would regrow like a forest on main land and increase regrowth in lunar forest while being able to control them by fire, chopping down or turfing with the ground that they can't branch to, while the other being alternative use for getting more butterflies for cupcakes and potentially getting butter from them as well as getting them useful for making bees happier.

There is another idea and that you could carve out their insides for the sake of turning them into a type of water storage like the baobab trees do to water your plants acting as a well, or acting as a sort of a tree that would water nearby tiles by just existing.

It's cool to have a decorative tree and all, but I don't like how very few moths they give as well as how slow and badly they reproduce on the moon island.

But those are just my thoughts, but I'm interesting to see if anyone would want lunar trees having more use for survival or not.

While I wouldn't be against more uses for Lune Trees, I'd like to mention that their main downside (having to craft a whole bug net for every 10 trees planted) is a LOT less prominent now that we've got the thulecite bug net. They drop 6 logs each (counting the stump), you can farm 50-100 of them with a single thulecite bug net, and any excess moon moths you don't want to plant can simply be eaten for that hefty +15 sanity (or cooked into butter muffins for even better stats). They seem pretty good now that they aren't a massive silk drain anymore!

Yeah the bug net really helps and it's an ok sanity restoration food (I wish lune cupcakes existed)

it'd make a mess after a while, since moths dont despawn like regular butterflies they just die after a minute.

With the power of coding and creativity I'm sure there would be a solution. Also I did mention them not dying when close to their respective trees. They'd return home and all, maybe plant themselves to make a slow growing forest expand, etc.
