WX-78 Combat Strategy Using the Enlightened Crown

Recommended Posts

A while back I beat Toadstool as WX-78 using their super-processing curcuits to take advantage of the enlightened crown, with the absurdly high sanity stat, as well as the combined sanity gain from the crown and circuits, mainatining the crown is much easier as you spend less time and resources replenishing sanity. By no means is my fight here perfect, this video is just meant to showcase the strategy.

I don't think WX is breaking any damage records any time soon, and I still think Wigfrid is the best user of it, but I figured this could help use the crown as them more efficently.

(This was done on the beta branch version btw)

A small chance that this gets buffed in the skilltree,,,like buffing the circuit numbers, making it alter insanity/enlightenment/crown thresholds, or just buff sanity-granting things further. But glad to see this sorta unique battle style nevertheless. Anything to escape Wilson combat.

Ohh do tell me your load outs alongside it I’ve been wondering myself

Dronemaster + Super-Acceleration + Gastrogain circuits sometimes, people always say speed is overrated but it would be a lie to say it doesn't feel good.
Gastrogain I prefer over Hardy or a Processing circuit since I like getting the full hunger value from dishes like meaty stew / tall scotch eggs and such.

If I have a rider beefalo and I'm lategame sometimes I'll do 2 Dronemaster because I loovee sanity and health. I also just like the aesthetics of the circuit itself... 2 is a bit frivolous and I will just pop a cooked green / bluecap for sanity if I'm using the crown, and the Dronemaster circuit will restore any health loss from consuming them.

Dronemaster also just feels really nice with post-rift gear since you don't really have any "true" repercussions for getting hit that you'd be pressed to make up for, your equipment can be repaired and I always carry 10 kits on me, and my HP fills itself back up. It feels very self sustaining and the only thing I ever really need is food (Hence the gastrogain circuit) Food comes to be in the form of brightshades, hound waves, and 10 bee boxes.

I love fighting bosses but yeah WX is fairly limited in how they can use their perks to add to a fight, the electrification circuit is a bit situational as it forces you to take to get use out of it. Which is only a select few bosses

My WX file is post rift with a rider beefalo, so I could give this layout a try as I’ve already explored what I’ve needed in the caves and I still get annoyed at how often WX gets hungry

and yeah I agree that super acceleration can be a bit overrated, I never use more than one because it’s only an extra 25% speed boost and takes up the rest of your slots, and a walking cane can easily make up for that
