Should Slingshot Bands Increase ammo speed?

I've seen people mention that the added range of the slingshot bands sometimes causes you to miss shots. I'm not really familiar with this since I don't use them, but I wanted to see how common this is for people who do. As far as I know, this happens with all the bands, but it's more noticeable with the more expensive ones.

The slingshot always missed sometimes, I don't know if the increased range makes it happen more often but it's nothing new. Also we already have the grips for increased speed.

I’m aware; I’m referring to the speed of the ammo itself. (Also, I’m not sure, but as far as I know, the grips only increase the firing rate.) I personally don’t mind the missed shots because ammo isn’t that expensive, and like I said, I don’t really use the bands that much, but I wanted to see what others think about this.

There should be at least some drawback to firing from range.

I'm not against having a new band with Tracking effects, maybe post rifts. But for now I think its fine as it is.

Make it a seperate homing band, which sacrafices a little range as a tradeoff.

Homing band needs the longest range to be worth it because only long range shots would need the homing effect. Since everyone thinks lunar affinity is the weaker side for walter. The homing band should be a lunar post-rift band that only gives homing effects to lunar rounds

The post I made about the chance to miss was less about any sort of real issue, just that showing that bands kind of only really serve to increase your chance to miss moving targets in 95% of scenarios.

Care to elaborate? Why? And why would anyone take bands at all if it was made to be worse to shoot from further?

I feel like there ahould be a band that makes it that each shot travel faster the closer Walter is to his target. This would also satisfy people who mostly use sling shot as debuff tool since there would be fewer shots missed.

if the player is closer to the target, then ammo velocity does nothing, no? the further away you are, the more valuable velocity is because the ammo will travel in less time, catching the target before they move and not missing as much. the closer you are, the less distance to travel, the less you need velocity.

I would disagree with you this times since I think the modding parts like bands should not brings new downside after costing the insight points and the materials.
