I’m leaving my story here as a warning, so she will hurt no more people. It was a gloomy winter day like any other. I woke up at night and couldn’t sleep, so I decided to play my favorite game from Klei Entertainment - Don’t Starve Together. After all, I wanted to test out the new beta update about Walter for which I have been waiting for almost two months now. Before that, I launched my browser and decided to take a look at the patch notes. The new beta update released just an hour ago. „Finally” I thought. I clicked on the patch notes and started reading. Just as I started reading, I heard a knock on my window, and flute sounds. It sounded just like…. Wendy. I thought it must have been just my imagination playing tricks on me because of my lack of sleep. I continued reading, and to my surprise, Walter didn’t get that much attention after all. And neither did Wortox. „No Wortox?” I commented unsatisfied. Wendy was the main focus of the update. Again. With each line of Wendy changes I read and scrolled through, my browser started lagging more and more. Then, at the end of the changes, there was a scary message just for me… ”I SEE YOU, ECHSRICK” I sat in shock, maybe I have a virus? Then, my speakers started playing Wendy sounds. A photo of disemboweled Walter and Wortox appeared on my screen. At the same time, sounds of Walter and Wortox dying in-game started playing. My computer blue-screened after displaying that insane abomination. Instead of launching properly again, the computer displayed a message. ”YOU ARE NEXT” I then realized; the Wendy sounds did not stop. It wasn’t my speakers. The sounds I have heard before were real. I left my room to hide in the bathroom, but on the way I saw a huge figure which resembled Wendy Don’t Starve. Behind it was what was supposed to be Abigail Don’t Starve. The huge figure seemed to be made entirely from stretched skin, it was in the colors of the character from the game. Huge, empty hollow white eyes penetrated my soul as I looked at it in horror. She drank an elixir which seemed to be made of blood, with parts of Wortox and Walter inside. Abigail haunted me and entered my body. I woke up seven days later in a trench 50km away from my home, I was taken into a psychiatric hospital because no one believed me, but I knew it was real. It really was. Because after I returned home, I found a note… ”NOT ENOUGH, I AM FULL OF EMPTINESS” A quote with a part eerily similar to Wendy’s… Never install this game, never interact with anything related to it. This is a warning, leave while you can.
