Walter Skill Tree buff: the Adventuring section

Recommended Posts

Walter is a boy of much potential. He is a survivalist, he is fearless, he has Woby, and a slingshot.

The skilltree focuses only on Woby and his slingshot. Honestly, that's quite a bit of a missed potential.

Woby should have an additional 3 skills focused on adventuring, which can be used to replace Projectile Pro or something:

Skill 1: Fearless Pathfinder

Walter now has a 50% chance for a Hunt Surprise.

Skill 2: Master Tracker

Tracks spawn a lot more frequently around Walter.

Tracks also appear in the Caves and the Ocean

(Cave tracks now lead to certain new Cave-only mobs, perhaps a Greater Depths Worm or a Nightberry Newt?)

Skill 3: Steel-Hearted Sniffer

Walter can now track more creatures (Deerclops, Bearger Chess Piece Heads, Monkey Island, Pearl's Island, Ruins, Atrium Tentacle, etc?)

I like the idea of Walter getting better at getting meat, because pre-skill tree his ability to do that without a lot of set-up was one of my favorite things about him. Please don't replace projectile pro or I'll cry though.

I could be wrong about this, but isn't he already like really good at this to begin with? Even more so with honey rounds available early, shooting tallbirds, otters or werepigs are a fantastic resource for large meat, and if he gets gold rounds he can sustain a bird meat farm via morsle trades with pig king for more ammo.

I fully support the idea of woby being able to sniff out certain things and point you in the right direction, it would make a lot of sense and play into the scout idea of walter on many levels.

I just don't get why people are so obsessed with Walter getting hunting skills like the mini game for hunting is not hard to do...

I think it's not the difficulty of the hunt it self, but rather assistance in getting one you may want in the first place that is more desirable.

Less so easier hunts, but rather a better time finding things you actually want, be it items or mobs associated, not unlike wheelers navi-gadget, but instead of and item its woby and walter working together to track stuff, "woby's nose and walters know how" kinda thing.

I'm fine with the ability to find items as a skill but that's not what's usually suggested it's just easier normal hunts usually.

Chuck the perks somewhere else

Walter? Easy hunts? He would call you a sniveling coward and fight 10 deerclops at once (before crying when he gets hit once)

"Easy" and "Walter" are antonyms. He seeks only the hardest of adventures.
