Any way to put a "no opinion" option? I don't play either Wendy or Wortox enough to speak to them.

Also, I don't think Klei thinks Wendy is most in need of updates, seeing as how we're getting what sounds like a decently chunky Walter update either tomorrow or Monday. The updates they put out for her are just smaller and more frequent.

Walter's need of skill condensing has already been addressed. Want to see what the patch has in store for him before I talk. Aside from that.

Wendy's mourning glory ||| might need work. I think it's fine, but it being something aside from a reskinned meat effigy would be cool. Mourning glory ||'s Wraith's Wreath using garland skills would be cool.

Wortox, imo, the knapsack, the soul decoy branch, specifically the second one.

Reaching Souls II, I'm kinda mixed about. It kinda feels like a problem, souls being faster and all. Not only makes it more annoying to use soul pierce. But also increases the risk of getting to the limit before you can drop the rest... on the inclination that doesn't have the ability to stay a bit overloaded.

Wendy: Her skill tree is so frustratingly close to being perfect. And by Perfect I mean PERFECT. If every skill got one more pass over with balance her skill tree would be the best in the game and it wouldn't even be close. But there are so many small issues that it just knocks it down a bit. Still good, but could be so much more. The only skills that need changes are Perrenial Altar (make it unique), Ghastly Experience (# instead of %) and shadow sisterhood (revert the damage standardization).

Walter: He's getting a major rework imminently, so it's not worth talking about till then.

Wortox: I kinda wish the nice branch felt more impactful in a way? They're valuable skills to have, but most of them are like "Heal more" or "Echo more efficient." All the interesting skills, like knabsack, Soul Jar and Decoys are in the naughty branch. Other than that I think Knabsack should see a buff, but from the sound of it it's getting that in the form of an upgraded bug net.

(Bonus) Lightning round of "Wendy's skills that would be great if they got balanced properly":

  • Team Spirit 3 (Haunt RNG QOL, Scare CD)
  • Blessed Sisturn 3 (Lower Healing reduction to 33%)
  • MG 1 (Halve MG costs)
  • Vengeful Ghost (Make damage planar so Wendy isn't the worst user)

Wendy: I honestly considered her to be the character that needed a skill tree the least and I don't really care either way what she does or doesn't have by the time the update releases

Wortox: Some stuff could be improved but I think the skill tree fixed my major issues with the character as is

Walter: Right now his slingshot has a skill tree, not him

I think Wendy needed a skill tree, but for completely different reasons to the other characters that needed ones.

The other Characters that "Needed" a tree did to because they were undertuned without it (Willow, Walter, Winona, Woodie).

Wendy on the hand, "Needed" a tree because while she was still decently strong, she felt dated in a way no other survivor was at this point. Other than sanity modifiers, her skill set pre skill tree was only Abigail, with Pipspooks, Sisturn, etc all buffing Abigail's traits, which really hasn't been the direction of DST since... Webber's refresh launched.

Wendy's Skilltree is literally complete I can't see what else needs to be refined at this point. Walter is gunna apparently get a whole branch or so added. Wortox is frustrating because Klei thinks perfect where in fact there's a few things that need refinement. Personally half the things that need fixed are literally parts of updates from the past like Planar to the Knabsack and 20hp Naughty Self heal and decreased team healing. If Knabsack is reverted back to early Beta I'm sure alot of people could excuse its lackluster of a personal weapon it is currently.

I think there are a fair few things that need refinement tbh.

  • Ghastly experience can fully heal Abigail in about 10 seconds
  • Perrenial Altar is currently a reskin
  • Balance between Shadow and Lunar
  • 40 MG to revive a stack of butterflies
  • Wendy's the weakest user of vengeful ghost despite it being her own skill
  • Blessed Sisturn 3 is undertuned presently
  • Haunt RNG is needless
  • Scare CD is too low to the point it can stunlock.

I'm asking because I'm curious if the community agrees with what I assume Klei thinks, that Wendy is the most in need of updates, followed by Walter, with Wortox being mostly in a good place.

I'd wait until next week to post this as Walter's major patch is planned for tomorrow or Monday and I'm assuming Wendy will also get tweaks as well.

Hey guys, Walter is almost ready to go into beta.  With condensing the Slingshot and Ammo skills, and replacing the Woby badge system, there ended up being quite a lot of new things that couldn't be released in parts.  We're aiming to get his update out into beta either by the end of the week or on Monday.

For context

i honestly think Wortox's main culprits are covetous collector affecting a total of 12 skill points and decoy 2 lasting longer when it gets one shot anyways other than that hes ok.

having more things to turn on alignments earlier such as nabsack  or other affinity items wouldn't hurt either

i am mostly annoyed by klei of kind of ignoring wortox players in all the feedback they have givven over all this time just...just to nothing of it to happen of it at all

Yeah it's annoying considering all the time spent creating posts being mindful of what we asked for and making sure everything stayed consistent and consolidated. Then, for all that feedback to be created and the ONE thing they "considered" was a mf bugnet, A BUGNET!!!! HAS ANYONE PLAYING BETA WORTOX FELT THE NEED TO SPEC INTO THE NAUGHTY TREE JUST TO HAVE A STUPID CHEAPER BUGNET?!??!??!!

Sorry got a lil irritated but seriously, it's insulting.

TBF it was a while ago, but that was a fairly common suggestion for a time. Also from the way they were describing it it seems like an upgraded bugnet?

I think he does still need a few more changes tho.

. A mid to late game Bug Net was needed to be created before the Knabsack can be a Bug Net alternative and will be going out with the Walter changes.

To me this implies that Knabsack would share some trates of the upgraded bugnet.

It was a post asking for a Bugnet like feature that allowed small mobs to also be captured. However, as the Beta went on and the reliance of Soul Jars was made more apparent, this request stopped being posted about. What's the point of anything akin to a Bugnet when your have the ability to gather like 30 souls in a few seconds?

Unless this allows you to catch souls in it without killing a mob or something I don't see the use for it and prefer more pertinent paint points to be worked on.

That would be on top of it being a weapon. The main issue is that everybody needs a better bugnet, and Wortox is a DLC character.

It's like locking malbatross sail behind Wurt and an insight point.

It'd have synergy with soul pierce.

This is actually a way to help players attack the boss by pulling the souls of creatures. Currently, there is no gameplay in Wortox that allows players to directly shoot souls to attack the boss. Therefore, a large number of bugs need to be captured and killed in front of the boss to obtain a sufficient amount of souls for piercing the boss. This gameplay is obviously quite forward-looking in Klei's design. They have added explosion resistance to the soul piercing damage of Wortox because although this gameplay is difficult to master, the damage is really high.

I get people want a better bugnet but why would that be an aspect of Wortox's weapon? If there isn't an increase of stack amount of bees I can't see this being useful especially by those who don't like to play with Soul Jars.

I get it putting souls in a smaller area so that you can soul jump while the Soul Pierce does damage for you but since the explosion resistance being added, it's almost always easier and quicker to kill bosses by normal means.
