Walter's slowing effect is imbalance and boring. Nerf slowing effect and buff Woby please.

Making him slower at combat will simply lead him back to how he was pre skill tree it's kind of a paradox that doesn't have a clean solution.

Even you could make Walter be able to melee when riding Woby (with Woby endurance skill).

I don't think there's no solution for the problem. The only matter thing is if folks wants Walter become a brainless character or not.

Woby allowing Walter to melee is like Wendy crawling out of graves and digging them up with shovels sure there are ways to make it work but none that really work without ignoring the character's identity at the end of the day crowd control rounds are the best way to go about it but crowd control is obviously going to make a ranged combat a lot easier no matter what direction you take it. So do you ignore his core characteristics for the sake of balancing? Or perhaps remove all his crowd control options and focus purely on damage at the risk of making him boring practical but fair? As I said solutions exist just not a clean one.

This seems more like a simple defence for the current imbalance of Walter which that is a clarification like "no, any fixing to the imbalance would not work".

Okay. I leave it here.

I'm sorry, but letting walter melee on woby is not what they are designed for. Walter is afraid of pain and woby is skittish, so it makes perfect sense for them to fight everything at a distance. I remember when walter was first released, Woby can attack like a beefalo but still bucks walter off when sustaining damage. Klei removed it shortly after, and in this case I really can't see ppl using it.

Walter is an extremely unpopular character that received a huge boost after being miserably weak. I'd suggest let more player review set in before making further modifications. Also afaik there's been complaints on him saying that he's still weaker than Maxwell without the tree in all aspects.

I could understand this argument. The things I hope is to fixing the current boring issues and to give Woby more skills for potential fixing and new playstyle rather than simply pepple bow.

I could accept that new skills of Woby become imbalance but interesting. But for what we have at the current stage it's imbalance and boring. I do care it's boring.

The downside arguments is just a counter toward same arguments happened to Wendy during the beta, I hope it wouldn't bother or offend you and it's not what I truly care.

Though I don't think to give Woby a skill to make her become braver is a bad idea or is paradoxical towards the original design. We already have some discussion before about the growth of characters which showed by their skill tree. After several adventures, it's reasonable that Woby become a bit braver.

And im not sure if I would agree that to use Maxwell as a balance standard. (You know when Wendy player say similar things the "No" is just coming automatically.)

But if Walter skills would be interesting enough, I would give my defense for him when nerfing voices happened.

Tanking goes against the core design of Walter and Woby and even then unless Woby were to take all the damage for Walter this wouldn't help his interaction with the bee queen.

Gunpowder doesn't overshadow stinger rounds glass ones do gunpowder does have aoe but only on the crit effect which is too inconsistent to work against a horde.

Ik they're not designed to have the same effect, it's just... I haven't seen any situation where I can use stinger rounds, because by the time I get these stingers I'd have stacks of moonglass already.

I mean it's a very valid defense and it's not like I'd be against a proper solution but I, you, and klei are not miracle workers this was the cleanest solution but if you can pitch one that doesn't go against the character's nature or worsen his gameplay experience I'll support it and everyone likely would as well as Walter is a special case how to go about a solution would need more special care than a character who is already in a good spot pre skill tree.

Getting to the lunar island and building the altar takes time often a lot of time even more so since most people tend to aim for the ruins first so they'll likely be entering with stinger rounds over glass ones back when you unlocked glass just from using skill points this was more of a consideration but not a anymore though I would recommend klei bundle the rounds.

I think the way to change Wobi is to make it more convenient. For example, you can add the ability to open storage without leaving Wobi. Digging up piles of dirt without getting off Wobi. Open the Umbrall dome without getting off Wobi. For combat, you can add a chance to dodge while on Wobi.

I'm pretty like this idea! maybe you could start a post for highlighting it or just make a collection for it later? I was obsessed with imagination of Woby for their potential and hoping more interesting gameplay from new Woby branch these days. But I'm lack of inspirations for these...
