Catuna_
Some of these are stolen from my older posts and/or recycled but shshsh numbers are just for the sake of the concept don't take them literally Boyscout perk ideas: Troop leader: Walter has done what any pinetree pioneer yearns for; he has all the badges under his belt. Learn to craft the Pinetree Captain hat, Reducing damage taken by 75% and having the same effects as the Pioneer hat. Any of Walter's followers that wear a Pinetree Pioneer hat will be immune to fears by bosses / Nearby allies will have reduced sanity drain from insanity auras. Backpacker badge: Learn to craft the camper's bag, a backpack with 10 storage slots with an extra slot for any type of inventory tent (portable, grass roll or fur roll) and a 1.5x increased storage capacity for basic resources like grass and twigs. Efficient survivor: Learn to craft Rope more efficiently (2 cut grass -> 1 rope). Walter now picks grass and saplings 15% quicker and has a 15% chance to pick twice as many resources from things like junk piles, berry bushes, banana bushes etc. (doesn't work with reaper probably). Rowing badge: Use half as much durability when paddling with any oar. Walter will also have faster rowing. Fisher badge: Learn to craft the pioneer's fishing rod, made out of drift wood and silk. It functions as an upgrade to the freshwater fishing rod, with twice as much durability. It can also be used to reel in items useful for those pesky ruins gems and items in the ocean. Track finder: Walter takes half as many dirt piles to finish a hunt. Slingshot branch ideas: Projectile pro 2: Now makes Walter craft slingshot ammo and upgrades faster similar to Winona Honey rounds, stinger rounds merged into one perk: Stinger rounds damage buffed to 34 and aoe to 27. Shockscrap rounds electric damage modifier buffed to 2.5x, it should be Walter's highest damage ammo considering the cost and the rain requirement. Lunar Walter: add set bonus for brightshade helmet, buffs brightshade rounds damage and decreases the amounts of hits needed by 1 for a tentacle to appear, buffs brilliance rounds damage bonus from +5 to +10 with an extra +5 for Walter. (Reason: Lunar Walter has to fight way faster enemies than Shadow Walter does so he should do way more damage, thulecite rounds matching the damage of brightshade shouldn't be a thing and the asymmetry between lunar and shadow with the setbonus shenanigans is odd.) Scrappy frame: Reworked; fire three shots at the cost of one spreading into a shotgun pattern enabling a riskier style of play with big damage as a reward. The alt fire mechanic is way too similar to the thulecite frame's. Woby branch ideas: Bravery and support: removed. Agility: Reworked into endurance. Endurance: Woby gains extra speed, gives Walter innate damage reduction and slower hunger drain. Big Woby now can use fetch and dig badges. She has a higher multiplier for successfully performing these tasks. Tracking: Woby can be prompted to smell items by Walter, pointing towards the general direction of an item letting him find resources/mobs faster. Big Woby can track over a bigger range. Has a chance to fail, which lowers with progress.Tracking range scales with training progress aswell. Intimidation: Woby can bark at mobs, intimidating smaller enemies like spiders. Big Woby can scare mobs like bunnymen and pigmen. Progress makes it less likely for Woby to fail at intimidating enemies. Woby training station: Turned into a portable item i ran out of ideas TLDR: merging agility, bravery and support into one perk makes it so that Walter has a lot more space for more interesting and engaging perks for Woby, and makes the point system actually make sense. Small and Big Woby exclusive perks don't generally work for the most part because there's no way to dynamically swap between the two, nor should I think that they should be a way to do this because it wouldn't really make sense when it's tied to her hunger. Also adding an incentive for keeping Woby fed outside of riding her would be good, thus why I think she should be more likely to succeed in training tasks. Steorra
Hoping we could have a different playstyle from Woby branch, but not only a supporting character Woby. The rest of the perk seems good though. 1 hour ago, Catuna_ said: Intimidation: Woby can bark at mobs, intimidating smaller enemies like spiders. Big Woby can scare mobs like bunnymen and pigmen. Progress makes it less likely for Woby to fail at intimidating enemies. I feel like we're getting too many abilities like this between Maxwell, Wigfrid, Wendy, and now Walter though Willow could techinically apply too since her fire inflicts a similar effect as well. 1 hour ago, Catuna_ said: Lunar Walter: add set bonus for brightshade helmet, buffs brightshade rounds damage and decreases the amounts of hits needed by 1 for a tentacle to appear, buffs brilliance rounds damage bonus from +5 to +10 with an extra +5 for Walter. The only other thing I'd add here is that the pure brilliance debuff should last 1 minute like the icker rounds debuff. The only other thing I'd add is the addition of a 2 second grace period between fire rate decay from the slingshot other than that I more or less like the suggestions here. However, i feel like this rowing badge makes sense lore wise but probably not too much so in game. its like a built in pirate bandana effect and is probably more useful if paired with sth else, like making "tree jams" out of pine cones that fixes boats without leaving a patch mark. Also I believe the fetching badge needs some rework as well, maybe letting small woby jump onto the cave holes (the unreachable mini islands in ruins) and fetch the gems and big woby sweeping them out with her paw. Reiko24
I love all the ideas! Shame the beta is ending. I hope Klei will give Walter some more love afterwards. (I recall them saying that before but I’m not sure…) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163573-walter-skill-tree-enhancementnew-perks-ideas/#findComment-1792058 Share on other sites
Thieta
I love the woby ideas but maybe the tree should be split more into how wortox's tree is - Naughty/Nice - Walter's should have a Small/Big woby side? Similar to how the constant is corrupting and changing those in it. Focusing on giving woby a more supportive/Passive role or a more active role Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/163573-walter-skill-tree-enhancementnew-perks-ideas/#findComment-1792074 Share on other sites

(I recall them saying that before but I’m not sure…) They didn't say the beta was ending really last we heard about the beta is that the next update would contain more Wendy changes and finally some kind of a change to Woby. Though they're far beyond "shortly after" at this point. 1 hour ago, Thieta said: I love the woby ideas but maybe the tree should be split more into how wortox's tree is - Naughty/Nice - Walter's should have a Small/Big woby side?
