In the WeGame version (WeGame is a game platform similar to Steam), the Skeleton in DST has been removed. I don't know why it was removed, but neither the natural generation of the world nor the death of players will produce Skeletons.

No boons? Dam

Since bigspooks are limited to 4 at a time, I think that either

1) just add skeletons

Or 2) just make them craftable wherever for this version

I've heard it's against Chinese game censorship policies cause it's "gruesome". Other western games in Chinese market do this too. Some changes are very drastic like Chinese Terraria is a whole another thing.

That's also what I guessed, which matches my impression of Tencent's (WeGame is a game platform developed by Tencent) some hard-to-understand and somewhat illogical censorship policies.

I think Tencent buys games and licenses or whatever without actually having a deep foundational understanding over what they are actually buying. It could be due in part to the language barrier, but ultimately I think they blindly buy up whatever they think is going to be profitable to them without knowing the contents of what they bought.

(for comparison Tencent owns shares in Fortnite and Gears of War) in fact… any game with an Epic Games Logo on it is “Partially” owned by Tencent.

That said- The no skeletons rule is really weird and really dumb when I can go pull up several skeleton features that are in DS and DST Fuel Weaver itself requires the collecting of skeleton parts and assembly of a reanimated skeleton, When you free Maxwell off his nightmare throne in the original DS game he becomes a skeleton before your eyes then turns to dust.

Kleis animated shorts clearly show Wagstaff burying skeletons under his basement.

I think there’s enough evidence here to firmly say Tencent buys up stock without knowing the full contents of the stock they’re buying up.

And I’m really curious how AFW is even handled on WeGame… do you farm resources for balloon animals and then summon Wes’s balloon battle Mech to fight in replacement?

but can they make bucket-o-poop now or not?

In my impression, the Wegame platform only removed the skeleton shown in the image below (all six versions). The item bone shards is still there, but acquiring it has become much more troublesome. I think you might need to hammer the spoiled fish for it. There have been no changes to items related to AFW or Fossil Fragments.

This change should have nothing to do with language barriers, and in fact, I feel that there might have been even more things removed if there are no language barriers.

For Chinese players, the biggest advantage of Wegame is that the latency for non-dedicated server multiplayer is much lower than on Steam. However, this can usually be solved by setting up a dedicated server or using other tools to reduce latency. Moreover, Wegame's modding community is far inferior to Steam's. The last time I used the Wegame platform to play DST was about one or two years ago, and since then, I've been using Steam.

Guys, the discussion in this thread seems to have gone off-topic. When mentioning that WeGame is a platform owned by Tencent, you've shifted the conversation towards criticism and satire of matters unrelated to the game. Regardless, WeGame is a platform where players can purchase legitimate copies of DST, and Klei should consider WeGame equally in updates, just as they do with Steam, PS, Xbox, and Switch.

If Klei is developing the WeGame version, yes they should fix it/add a new way of making graves (which should be the case anyway tbh).

If Klei isn't developing the WeGame version, it's not their responisibility.

I mean, even if Klei IS designing the WeGame version of the game even outside of the Wendy skill tree there are several parts of the game that uses/needs these skeletonal features.

Even a cute/sad lore set piece for Merm/Pig Love Story needs Skeletons.

And these aren’t just for decoration, they serve actual gameplay purposes too, such as a way to obtain BoneShards, a way for a player to Identify and locate where they died to retrieve their lost items, and now for Wendy.. also a way to revive/foundational part of her kit.

I mean the only thing I can POSSIBLY suggest here is to replace all skeletons with Meat Effigy Statues for this weird highly censored version.
