A community mod project idea? (a functional bubble bathtub for your base)

so this would be my idea for 2025 if I could find some team mates

The characters deserve to clean! we have bathbombs but their use is rather off-topic despite some characters wanting to use them as intended.

If anyone is interested in making s luxury bathtub item as group project it would be a nice occasion to do so here. In case some people with different skill want to work on something like this I would list what exactly I had in mind.

In need of:

- Artists

- animators

- coding

- code changing (involving use of other prefabs receipts etc.

- sounds

- quotes strings etc.

- creative input (stats etc)

- testing

- troubleshooting

- planning and communication in general (optional I suppose but I tend to be a bit overwhelmed or unstructured when it comes to this)

, also whats the point of a bathtub when most people dont bother sleeping anyways

i feel nervous about this. unless you want to have them fully dressed while bathing it would have to be exclusive to confirmed adult survivours only and then you would have to make barbie-nude alternative skins for more than a dozen characters as well as leave it open-ended for custom characters AND never know for sure if your mod will be nicked by someone wanting to use it for direct tos violations

 

i used to do both stardew and sims1 modding and i can tell you know, it gets super squirrelly super fast

Hmm, I guess that problem could be avoided by making the bath super bubbly, so anything inside would be invisible and wouldn't require any actual nude art. And getting in and out of the tub could use some clever animation for removing the clothes while going in, and dressing up while coming out. It could be amusingly shy (considering the era the characters are from), and make as little sense as the typical crafting animations, so you'd just see something tossed away as they jump in, or something pulled from behind the tub and over the edge while the character gets out so they'd be fully clothed once you'd actually see something. The art style allows some creative solutions like that after all, since it doesn't have to be realistic ^^

what about a behind-the-curtain situation where the tub has a curtain that the character walks behind and so during the bath it is closed? you could have it be bubbly when noone is in it then. it would cut that risk and limit animations that require messing with the character models(meaning you could also have it work with mood chars)

(just as I wrote gaymime privately right now)

I am actually shocked this was even considered as potentially adult since i had a completely innocent idea that went not even in the direction of character being animated.

I automatically had use single character only, character becoming invisible when using, basically a soapy "sleepingbag" from use. And most important my idea was parallel to how the tent in DST is basically a "snoring tent" with an invisible character.

(here I imagined just a bubble filled bathtub without a character animation)

(alternative I like the idea of the bathtub images with a curtain even more that Gaymime showed me)

So stressing here: A tent-like animated item was what I had in mind when making the thread, nothing else. *still shocked by how innocent my mind was here so i really wasn't aware*

(bathtub was supposed to restore health and sanity. A mod does not have to take into consideration players not using official items since it's purpose is base decoration and players who like custom objects [I would add having to heat water in a crockpot and bath recipe)

I am sorry I planned to write my list of ideas AFTER finding a team. I just had to intervene now because of the missunderstanding of the nature of my mod.

(actually i rather thought of max-health restoring in contrast to sleeping)
