Suggestion and fix for Vengful Ghost to make it better at its job

In addition to the old effect, when Abigail dies, all nearby enemies become vexed for 45 seconds (the time lowers drastically the more you use it on the same mob within a time frame to prevent Abigail being ignorable).

This further makes this skill good for new players by making Abigail dying less fatal, and it also adds more worth to picking this skill for fun. It can still be ditched if you are good enough at the game.

For players who dont want to manage Abigail in boss battles, this can be a solution to them.

All the other skills seem too high value, even if you are a noob, so it would be cool to add this.

I don’t think it needs anything extra Tbh..

Wendy gets the ability to “haunt” spiders guaranteeing that they drop glands needed for telltale hearts and healing herself.

She also has cheaper method of revival then the Meat Effigy.

And if that wasn’t enough… she has a Ecthoherbology potion that restores blacked out portions of your health core AFTER you’ve died further reducing the need for Booster shots.

Conclusion: Kamikaze your friends into a boss repeatedly and just easily revive and heal them to do so continuously.

(I already did this as Wanda with my team mates and just rewinding their deaths with second chance clocks)

WENDY however will now be most effective at it- cause not only will they deal damage even after dying, but she can also more easily heal and revive them now.

Also its still undervalued compared to other skills, even if you are new. You would rather skills that help you not die.

I mean, Wurt's swamp thing is kinda like this. Not a bad thing to have skills that really only work on a team

Especially since this is a flavor skill

This skill still works on Wendy, i wanted to suggest something to make the skill more versitile.

I really don't think we should be rewarding players for getting Abi killed. This is just removing Wendy's only downside.

Bosses are pretty much the only thing that won't die in 45 seconds. Even then, how many times can one get Abi killed per boss fight if they're using the other skills and elixirs?

There’s several characters who are like this, Wurts perk to make other survivors near her run faster on marsh turf.

Wolfgangs ability to regen sanity faster when near “friends” and losing it faster when not around “friends”

This is really just one of those flavor perks designed for the character who has spent extensive time studying spiritual books and trying to communicate with the dead. A lot of Wendy’s Vignettes and official art sees her taking casual strolls through graveyards and sitting on tombstones plucking flower petals.

So a perk where dead players can temporarily damage enemies is cute and very fitting. <3

Edit: The only way I can suggest to make it useable without other players is if hired followers of Wendy when nearby to Wendy (as close as Wolfgang’s *friends* need to be..) “Die” they temporarily become ghost helpers.

She almost never dies againsg normal mobs anyway

I strongly agree with the viewpoint that "Wendy should not benefit from Abigail's death."

Wendy can defeat bosses with several thousand hp (including the Armored Beager with planar defense) in just 1-2 minutes. This means, from a rational perspective, ignoring Abigail and allowing her to die in exchange for a 45-second vex effect on the boss is completely worthwhile. I can quickly revive her to level 3 after the battle, which is much more convenient than managing and healing Abigail during the fight.

However, I believe that "sacrificing Abigail's death for gain" should never be an option for Wendy at any time.

Whether the Vengful Ghost needs to be strengthened or not, I disagree with doing so in this manner.

Which brings up the point of when the skill would be used: Letting her die against bosses or tough mobs instead of unsummoning, all so you can keep your damage boost. There's no incentive to protect Abi at all. The opposite, in fact, because protecting her can waste time.

As long as the premise of this skill is the death of the player, I may never click this skill, because I always roll back.

 

It's also good to save one point to choose other skills I want, because other skills are useful to me.

 

In addition, I may have misunderstood. I thought the "vex promotion after Aby's death" in this post happened after Wendy's death, but if it means that Wendy doesn't die, as long as Aby dies, vex will be promoted, emmm... I don't think it's a good idea...

 

I know that players and characters are not the same thing. That is to say, players may let Abi die for their own benefit, but Wendy will never. In any case, the player who rewards Abi's death in the skill tree violates Wendy's character background and design? It seems to encourage people to let Abi die...
