Whats the purpose of Vengeful Ghost?

Recommended Posts

I mean i would rather just have it be a skill where abigail stayed active while you were dead
kind of like how she used to back in the day.
When wendy dies abigail loses all her levels and also despawns.

I think maybe just add that on as an extra to the standard skill so its not just useless for solo play

But it’s not completely useless for solo play? It can be used to finish killing a boss who you were literally 2-3 hits away from killing but died fighting (I’ve had that happen to me TWICE while fighting Dragonfly) unless your crazy and just hit “Rollback” literally undo-ing everything you had done up to that point of rollback.

I don’t know about you, but I actually like the idea of being able to “haunt” Deerclops to death after it kills me with a cheap shot, BEFORE it can happily smash my base to pieces and force me to use Rollback.

I can’t think of many people who play games for HOURS at a time who enjoys Rolling Back so they quite literally waste time, and it’s like they hadn’t even been playing.

I use to fall victim to the “rollback mentality” too (I think every noob does?) but eventually I began to notice (especially if you build big pretty base decor) how rolling back erases ALL my progress, all the food I had cooked for the fight, Armors I crafted, all the elaborate construction setups, Rollbacks erase it all in a classic Code Lyoko cartoon fashion-

“Return to the Past NOW!”

And this skill might sound *Useless* but I can promise you if a player can haunt a boss to finish killing it rather than having to do the entire 27,500 hp fight all over again, they’re going to appreciate that haunt.

I mean there are certainly things like that however i think would be good to have the bonus of keeping abigail from desummoning when you die.
Cause What you just said used to be possible with abigail  but now its not

Abigail staying alive after you died would allow people to remain AFK Indefinitely.

I mean there are definitely team comps where you can do something with this.

Wanda and Wortox having extra revive abilities can pair with this so you can add a lot of sauce to under-prepared and risky group attacks as the gradual revives from wandas watches and the 15 seconds of ghost damage can be repeatedly stacked. I don't expect this skill to be useful for the best players but I've known groups of casual players who I can see actually trying to build their team around this simply because they die that much.

(Words from a wanda player who has carried as many as four second chance watches for one group send help please.)

But it wouldn't? Abby is not being taken care of so she would die.

Only to bosses maybe? But outside of that… you can just go AFK for hours at a time (if you could be dead and still have Abby be active while your dead)

To do things like Bee Stinger Farming, Spider Farming, Werepig Meat Farming, Frog Rain Farming, You can also… troll other players if Abigail follows your dead ghost around by intentionally dying and leaving Abby on Riled mode.

They changed this for valid reasons, we should suggest some OTHER way to buff this skill, such as maybe letting hired followers temporarily become ghosts if they die near Wendy.

And?  so what if players do that?
Players already sit afk near a flower with abby riled up.
you can literally let the game run for 16 minutes on a full belly and evenmore if you want to have hunger items.
whats the difference of doing the same with a bush hat and a light on the ground?

Deals 29 instances of (11.25 | 18.75 | 30) damage depending on time of day.

Keep in mind, character-specific damage modifiers persist in death; for someone with no modifiers, the damage is the same as Abigail's.

they really should change that. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Wendy, the person whose using insight for the skill, should be the be best user of it, not the worst.

Would you prefer that:

a) No damage modifiers carry over in death

b) Abigail persists after Wendy's death

I don't think abigail persisting after death is a good idea, without the ability to control her with the flower she'd die instantly in most cases.

I think damage modifiers should be removed and wendy should apply hex.

If abby would stayed in defense mode if wendy died that would be perfect because she would act like how she used to

Mike doesn't use PC. I think he has to exit the world and re-enter?

Is Wolfgang considered to be in mighty form while dead?

Why? Because this skill loops back in with Wendy’s OTHER Skills..

What makes you think that a narrow loop of single character assigned between a few mobs and items and a boring mini-game is better than a loop of hundreds of items and mobs that players can explore freely throughout the whole game world?

This little loop limited to Wendy's skills isn’t more efficient or interesting than the original game loop.

I wouldn’t really call those things I listed as “useful” skills, Wooden Canes & Wooden Helmets are outclassed as soon as you get a Walking Cane & Football Helmet, And Crafting 1 less log is even more useless than those.

However: The hilarious & ironic thing here… is that to do so actually requires EFFORT from the Wendy Player…. And I’ve noticed that A LOT of Wendy players, frown upon putting in too much Effort.

Ironically, those who think Woody's three skills are useless are the ones who haven't put effort into the game.

idk, but I'm pretty sure wigfrid gets her innate 1.25x damage multiplier or whatever.

The only skill I'm not a fan on for Woodie is quick picker. But even that's just irrelevant to the rest of his gameplay style, rather than anything else.

我真的不会把我列出的那些东西称为“有用”的技能,一旦你得到行走的手杖和足球头盔,木杖和木头盔就被超越了,而少制作一根原木甚至比那些更无用。

Woody's cane and hat are useful in the early game, especially in SpeedRun, and even in multiplayer, you can give each of your teammates a cane, which will speed up the progress of the early exploration.

And, even if Woody's skills are really useless, why should we compare whose skills are even more useless? It's as if the existence of a worse skill justifies the "skill is useless".

他们出于正当理由改变了这一点,我们应该建议一些其他方法来增强这个技能,比如如果雇佣的追随者死在温蒂附近,也许可以让他们暂时变成鬼魂。

I believe this will change the underlying code of the game and add a lot of work for the developers

I might not have been clear. I'm referring to the skills of wooden walking stick and hardwood hat. In the first autumn of multiplayer game, these three skills are quite excellent for team support.

I don't mind quick picker (I'm also not sure what the relationship is between quick picker and the character setup of Woodie), but there are only 15 skill points, and I can't allocate more to it:wilson_cry:.

Currently, but she logically shouldn't as a limbless ghostly blob.

Yeah, hope it gets patched lol.

That does make me think of a vengeful ghost + warriors reprise combo though. That would be a hilarious  cheese strat.

I understand that for console or mobile players, they may not be able to use the quick save method because they can't enter c_save in the console, so Vengeance Ghost may be useful for them
But as a PC player, I'm more used to saving before the battle, rolling back if I fail, and the good thing about it is that I can keep honing my fighting skills. At the same time, the vengeful ghost is unreliable. Since you can't accurately calculate the amount of HP the boss has when you die, maybe you're still only a few dozen HP away from defeating the boss after the ghost damage ends......
This is indeed a "flavor" skill for the most part. There's no need to argue about its utility, because the "flavor" skill doesn't require much utility

No, I was agreeing with you. those skills are fine as is.
