Ghostly Elixirs discussion!

Recommended Posts

Just my general/final opinions on Ghostly Elixirs' effects for players!

  1. Revenant Restorative: Perfectly fine as is.
  2. Spectral Cure-All: Perfectly fine as is.
  3. Unyielding Draught: Really needs a change, a 1 time 50% damage reduction against a single hit is very bad.
My suggestion would be to give it a 10% true damage reduction for the full duration (true damage reduction is what Wigfrid has).
  4. Distilled Vengeance: Has the same issue as Unyielding Draught.
My suggestion would be to give it 20% true damage reduction + thorns for the full duration instead of for a single hit.
  5. Nightshade Nostrum: Perfectly fine as is.
  6. Vigor Mortis: Perfectly fine as is.
  7. Ghastly Experience: Should remove 2 health penalties instead of just 1, but even then it's still okay.

However, the Wraith Wreathe needs to just have infinite durability and not have freshness. The whole point of the item is to equip other players in order for them to be able to use your elixirs, but due to the freshness it renders the item incredibly impractical to use.

For anyone who doesn't know the difference between Wigfrid's and just normal damage reduction granted by armor

I like the 1 time thing more, its interesting.

Make it work multiple times.

I suggest making shield Elixirs work as they do on Abigail. If Wendy is supposed to be so good against hordes it would make sense to proc a shield blocking subsequent hits.

BTW I still suggest adding a pipspook on top, I don't get the party hat requirement for drinking the Ghostly Elixirs.

And Ghastly Expirience is a good substitute for Booster Shot, it's cheap and doesn't need the time requirement of Rot. If anything it could restore a little more sanity than just 5.

It's not a 50% reduction, it blocks 50 flat damage. If you have any armor on you will take 0 damage from pretty much anything.

I think a short invincibility bubble after triggering like Abi's own shield would make it more interesting. Or something to conserve your armor because it's a shame taking full armor durability loss when you only actually need to reduce 25 damage to get 0 damage from most bosses.

I don't think the 1-time effect is a dealbreaker because the elixir is absurdly cheap and you can drink it again fairly quickly (not 100% sure but I think it's faster than eating a pierogi).

The wreath lasts 10 days, which is 1 hour and 20 minutes in real time. If you have an insulated pack, you can double its lifetime outside of wearing it. It is very much practical to get a new one from your local Wendy after an hour and a half; removing the freshness would probably make it a swap item.

Mightaswell add my suggestions:

  • Reverant Restorative: Prevents spoilage of all items in inventory (Having two Healing effects seems redundant)
  • Unyielding Draught: Prevents Wetness gain
  • Distilled Vengeance: Provides insulation equivalent to Puffy Vest/Makes wearer immune to Freezing for duration.
  • Ghastly Experience: Slowly produces mourning Glory

that's right

if you want wear it when you fight.  it should have damage reduction

Or all potions no longer serve the combat scene.

Unyielding Draught Let you not drop items when you die, so that you can use death as a means to return to the camp.

Distilled Vengeance : Resurrected after becoming a ghost for a period of time. So you can die and become a ghost,  then overcome some obstacles

I'd prefer the latter.

Combat  headslot has too much competition, utility headslot is like moggles, eyebrella and tam-o-shanter. Removing combat perks will make it relevant for longer, as well as offering more untapped design space.

That said something like infinite durability 50% armour is an untapped niche, so i wouldnt mind it.
