Walter’s skill tree Increased the duration of Mark of Brilliance to 30 seconds. Removed the Woby Badge system. Condensed most of the Slingshot Customizer and Ammo skills. Added new Scouting skills for surviving in the wilderness alongside his companion Woby. Here are some highlights: Crafting skills for a Portable Campfire, improved first aid, and more… A drying rack attachment for Woby’s backpack, along with a new recipe for turning Monster Jerky into long lasting Woby Snacks. “Woby Here, Woby There” is a courier skill, which did not make it into this build yet. Added new Woby skills to improve her utility and mobility. Here are some highlights: Skills to increase Woby’s speed and endurance, as well as to aid Walter in his various everyday actions. Sprinting after running for a few seconds. Sprinting has a fixed speed that is not affected by Woby’s hunger level. Dashing by double-clicking or double-tapping in a direction. Lunar and Shadow variants that modify Woby’s sprinting or dashing abilities. Improved accuracy of the Player’s networked position between client and server. Added Thulecite Bug Net. Bug Fixes Fixed missing horns in all Woby up-facing animations. Fixed missing up-facing idle animation for Big Woby. Ornery Chest won’t duplicate when it hides now. Pipspooks will leave if they are not on a quest and their home grave is removed. Fixed the elixir shields stopping temperature damage. Fixed a physics bug with teleporting to points that collide with the world edge. Added missing sound effects for Spelunker’s Bridge. View full update Now that Walter's tree is in such a good place, and while we're waiting for the analytical players to test him out, maybe we can chime in and create mock-up of Walter-related skin, like Woby's skin and the Slingshot. Mysterious box Posted February 8, 2025 Share Posted February 8, 2025 I guess the last thing I'm curious about is if the mark of brilliance duration raising to 30 seconds meaningfully improves brightshade rounds vs thulecite rounds but lunar Woby already gives a really good incentive to go lunar so I guess it's fine even if it isn't. As a whole (the entire game), Lunar-alignment has always been about utility for me: - Brightshade helm providing a Desert goggle effect, pacifying Gestalt, and stopping Charlie from attacking you - Brightshade tools covering all 04 functions out of 05 [pickaxe, hoe, shovel, hammer], only missing the axe - Polar Bearger Bin and the Crystalizer are all very utilitarian, even though the Crystalizer sucks - Moon Glass axe, Moon Glass sawblade I'm not sure if it is the same with other character's alignment skill tree points, but if you want damage, you'd go Shadow. If you want utility, you'd go Lunar. So I actually don't mind if Lunar is a bit underpowered in terms of DPS, as long as the debuff numbers in multiplayer are good (even though I'd never play multiplayer). It's really the reverse for Walter his shadow alignment does less damage the lunar alignment but the shadow skills for both the slingshot and Woby offer far more utility. While his lunar side offers far more power in raw dps and Woby's speed the lunar rounds live up to the power vs the shadow ones but not the cursed ones which is what I'm wondering if the change addressed but again even if not lunar Woby is probably enough.
