I've just completed (for now) my first full character mod and I would love to share!!! He is Warrick, the Unsung Hero. As said in the title. He is an eccentric and enthusiastic swordsman who acts like he lives in a storybook... Here is a video I made for demonstrating some of his perks and other included things. EDIT: This mod went quite well. I just went ahead and released a skill tree update. FOR MORE INFORMATION, READ THIS! I got into the game in October, and I felt inspired to try making my very own survivor. And this is my result. I'm quite proud, and I really like him as a character and how the mod itself came out. So I hope you do too! I'll share a bit of his stat and perk info here, but please look at the steam page for more detailed information! HP: 100 | HUNGER: 150 | SANITY: 100 He has slightly increased run speed (15%) and damage (20%) thanks to his sword-fighting skills. He regains sanity when killing enemies based on how much health they have. capped at 30 (for now) Most importantly, he brought with him his legendary sword, Quixote. Quixote is sentient and will speak to Warrick (Quixote's behavior is very similar to Lucy, but with a few changes, considering he's a magic sword and not an axe.) He does not break and can only be equipped by Warrick. Other characters will drop him. Quixote can perform a dash attack that hits multiple enemies. Quixote can change forms to gain new special effects. Warrick also starts with his Cavalier Hat. It does break but is craftable with silk and a canary feather. The hat just gives a sanity boost and minor weather protection. Plus, it looks cool. He has low HP, the poor guy can't take many hits. In order to use him properly, you'll have to use your swiftness and your dash to dodge well and be careful!! Don't get too overconfident! His grip on reality isn't great, so his sanity is also very low. Be careful with that, too. Warrick and Quixote both have custom voices (Fanfare trumpet, and a drum cadence) They also both have skins if you use Modded Skins API!! At this point I've made 6! Uh oh! Feeling rosy? Here's the link to the steam page again! Have a look if you'd like! All the advanced coding was done by Summerscorcher who did an amazing job!! Please check her out if you need code help! (SIDE NOTE: Her character mod Flaire and Warrick are compatible and have quotes for each other!) My friend Mildew and my brother Tony helped with a bunch of character building. Lots of brainstorming together goes a long way. Mildew also wrote a bunch of the dialogue for the other characters describing Warrick or his items, really huge help!!! My best friend Clavio helped with testing a lot. and moral support. Love that guy My buddy Tane helped me with the code for the skins stuff, so huge shoutout to them as well! Enjoy the update! After watching so many people start mods and stop when they realise how much work it is, I'm genuinely so impressed that not only that you finished him but HE WAS FINISHED SO FAST!! WHAT THE HECK!! Thank you guys ^^ I'm pretty happy with how the art turned out I have drawn some sprites for other characters but I can't do the coding myself so they're just chilling (FOR NOW......). It is fun to make at least! Just also want to share that I released a small update since posting, to fix some things, add new strings, and add mods in menu support. Yeah, I ended up writing all the perks and going through with it and I'm very excited. I'm currently in the testing and bug fix stage. I also have lots of dialogue to write, and I want to finish a new skin I was making, but nearly all of the code is complete!!!!!! Hope you'll look forward to the big update!
