  1. 1. How do you feel about Walter's skill tree after the latest beta hotfix?

  2. 2. Ideas on his slingshot?

    • Shockscrap rounds need a buff in damage and utility
    • Some skill points need to be condensed (e.g. merge stinger rounds with honey rounds)
    • His lunar affinity rounds need a rework and differentiate from the shadow path
    • He needs more ammo types with more utility (e.g. chopping and mining with gunpowder rounds, healing rounds that you can shoot at other players, aoe panic effects)
    • He should be able to load eggs and water balloons into the slingshot
    • He should be able to load brightshade bombs into the slingshot
    • His ammos need more DPS since cursed rounds are still the best so far
    • Other (Please mention in the comments)
  3. 3. Suggestions on Woby?

    • Woby should have more hunger points
    • Walter should be able to feed Woby while mounted
    • Player should be able to see Woby's hunger meter
    • She should have more badge points, the current 4 is too little
    • Her tier 2 perks should be condensed
    • Walter should be able to uncover dirt piles, pick from crockpots and open umbralla while mounted
    • Woby should get a lunar/shadow upgrade
    • Player should have a way to transform Woby between big and small
    • Big Woby should be able to swim and jump across small gaps
    • Woby should be able to dig and fetch in big form
    • Her Bravery, Support and Fetching badges need rebalancing

  4. 4. Ideas on Walter's camping/scout perks and other perks?

    • Pinetree pioneer hat should be more useful
    • Camping crock pot
    • Portable reusable campfire (maybe with lunar and shadow upgrades)
    • More campfire stories and better sanity aura or more effects
    • Tracking skill to find no-eyed deer and stuff
    • First-aid skills
    • Portable drying racks that allows players to dry food on the go
    • Walter should be able to get additional drops from wild foraging and hunting (e.g. additional twigs when chopping trees, more berries on wild berry bushes, chances of double drops with spiders)
    • Walter should be able to pet Woby for a small sanity gain
    • Woby skins
    • Other (Please mention in the comments)

Those are called flavor perks and they come free with literally most characters in the game, i will never understand why Walter specifically gets cornered for having cute flavor perks, did you know Woodie has some extra insulation because he has a beard? did you know he has a Canadian tag that makes his followers last longer? did you know Wx loses more hp when drowning? did you know that Wurt gets some sanity from holding a fish in her inventory? did you know that Wendy is neutral to ghosts? these are just a few flavor perks there is a lot more for different characters idk why people kinda just hate Walter specifically for this, its annoying.

I always thought he had a goofy amount of flavor perks. I never checked how much he had vs the other characters, but it seemed very high.

I did know all those things! And I remember them. I still can't remember all of Walter's flavor perk soup. The task of remembering just makes me forget them harder.

He has a peanut allergy, right? But you can counter this by making an inhaler. But you can only make the inhaler if you put your tent near Pig King, and only on days that are prime numbers. I think I have this right.

spill iiiiiiiiiiiit. not to mention walter's tree sanity and campfire story are both good as well. sure, a better player might not need it, but just because you don't, doesn't mean someone else also feels the same 

i'm a terrible player, i often engage in fights i shouldn't be and i get hit a lot. but with the pinetree hat equipped, i can manage walter's sanity loss on hit downside fine just by walking around in a forest (which is a good chunk of the map), and i was already doing that anyway! i need to scout the map!

also, his campfire story allows modders to do silly things like inserting in the bee movie script, you can't tell me that's not good

I mean even his pioneer hat cuts insanity by half...but then you lose the helmet slot (best armor equipments), so then you are subjected to receive more damage and consequently more sanity loss... so the best option to use Pioneer hat...is with a Beefalo because it tanks the damage unlike Woby...

So again: NOPE! In my opinion it feels like a "throw it on the wall and see how it will be because we are about to end it all already".

Random huh? I've never understood this argument.

Character downside loses sanity from getting hit and being low on hp.

Character perks 

  • Gains sanity from being near trees
  • Gains sanity from campfire stories
    • Fun fact combining this with his tree perk stacks meaning 16 sanity per minute for him and doesn't have a time of day limit in caves
      • Additionally you can combine this with glommer for 22.25 sanity per minute
  • Gains sanity and hp from a tent he can use on the go
  • Doesn't passively lose sanity at high hp
  • Has a hat that halves sanity loss

I can't even imagine what ties these things together.

Voted "other" on the slingshot because I am a little tired of the slingshot being pretty much the only part of his kit that's been getting attention, and am hopeful for the portion of his skill tree that will focus on Woby and scout/camping oriented perks. Feels a little weird that the Woby section we do have feels so...preliminary, but guess that's what a beta is for. Also agree with everything people have said about how Walter's supposed "perk soup" is a myth.
