Primalflower
I'm not sure why they were removed. If early power from the uranium biome was a problem, then why does the uranium biome still contain saturn critter traps alongside beetas? They can be combined very early to attain power at pretty much the same pace you otherwise can make nuclear power banks. So this balance hadn't really been upset so much as it had just... expanded. The only other reason i can fathom is that the ambient radiation was a problem...? Which i don't really get, like, couldn't you use remove that? They were killed too soon.... GuyPerfect
What would have been the second thread from the top of the list when you posted this Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162205-bring-back-nuclear-power-banks/#findComment-1772940 Share on other sites
StarvingAngler
It doesn't matter who posts it or how many times it is posted. The desires of the community shall not be silenced. Nuclear power banks will return once more to bathe the unbelievers in their unholy flames. Or something like that. speckle21
Yeah i had a whole design planned out starting with early nuclear power... but now that its gone i'll just go back to my old colony approach, except maybe with mid-game bionic dupes. I feel like the nuclear power banks gave a new starting approach. Instead of mining coal, or hunting hydrogen/methane geysers, you could mine uranium and avoid issues with carbon dioxide. ah well. I'll live with the changes, but i would also like nuclear banks back, it changed up the starting approach. As i said in my post, i'll live with it. I'm facing facts just fine. That being said, the idea of having another early game power source is appealing. And uranium runs out eventually. Maybe the system could be reworked, but i think the idea was sound. manatee6225
they were definitely op in their state but i really think it would be worth it to re-implement them, I think if producing them created a ton of radiation germs(an already underutilized mechanic imo), and using them for power would create a bunch of heat they would be pretty balanced. it would add some well needed variety to the early game, and the concept of using uranium as straight fuel is very cool imo. Dropping an atomic power bank in water creates ~ 1M radiation germs and ~1.25 tons of liquid waste Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162205-bring-back-nuclear-power-banks/#findComment-1773672 Share on other sites
