Wendy should have some ability to engage shadow due to the background story.

Recommended Posts

For lunar line, Abi already transformed into Gestlat form, which the archetype is always be irreconcilable to shadow creatures. There is enough reason to make Gestalt Abi has some ability to against shadow, even with minor effect.

For shadow side, Wendy is used to make Abi's flower by using Nightmare Fuel, and she was obsessed with Occultism. Which hint that she may have some knowledge about shadow from the beginning.

I have a personally idea for an "anti-shadow" skill line for Wendy, here it is:

Shadow work I

Description -

Wendy now have more confidence to against shadow creatures by borrowing mentality of Abi.

Effect -

While Abi's flower in inventory, Abi is unsummoned and Abi reached level III, Wendy would dealt vex effect to shadow creatures (which means 1.15 dmg modifty for Wendy, 1.1 for others).

Design logic -

Abi's flower is made of Nightmare Fuel, this may hint that Wendy and Abi has some special bond with shadows.

As a buff for facing shadow creatures, Abi's help would be a sacrifice when Wendy struggling in a combat mixed with Shadow and other mobs. So the design results an "unsummoned Abi" requirement.

Shadow work II

Description -

By learning more about the Shadow, Wendy now have ability to appease her own Shadows in a certain extent.

Effect -

While there is other Shadow creatures or Shadow mobs in 4-tile diameter of Wendy, Terrorbeak would no longer spawned by Wendy, which already spawned would disappear after once attack."

Design logic -

The concept of "Shadow work" is from both Occultism and Psychology, which means a way to trying to realise and manage what dwelling deep in one's subconscious.

The shadow creature is relative with character Sanity, which hint a connection of subconscious.

This skill is focusing more on cool and fun, so it may seems a bit strong. But for those experienced players who can easily  manage 2-3 Shadows at same time, this is more like a simply QoL change.

I think I just want to clarify that many Wendy players are fully capable of easily solving shadow monsters or rift creatures without Abigail, but it only takes longer. We ask for an increase in Abigail's ability in this regard only because we want to fight with Abigail and save some time. I don't see any harm in the balance of the game.

I have some differences of opinion with you.
It is indeed difficult for Wendy to solve shadow monsters at the moment, but I can accept its shortcomings as a character trait.
I think the most important point is to allow Abigail to continue fighting alongside Wendy on high difficulty.

It depends on how we define "difficulty". In fact, Wendy players asked to improve Abigail's survivability not to reduce the difficulty, but to provide some qol, that is, a more comfortable battle. We can see what we are going to do in a post-rift battle: first hang up at the base for five minutes to get a 600-point shield. Then in the battle, I not only need to kite boss, but also take care of Abigal, give her instructions to attack or escape, and give her medicine. If you ride beefalo, you need to feed it in advance, and pay attention to beefalo's health and be careful of being blown away; when all this is done at its best, yes, I won, maybe a minute or two minutes faster, but Abigail may still die in the battle, which makes me frustrated. Why didn't I give up fighting with Abigail at the beginning and choose to fight the boss by myself? It may be a little slower, but it won't be so tiring.

Yes, I can fight the shadow monsters with a lunar sword or ride a beefalo. The shadow is not a problem for me, but it is also not a problem for Abi to attack the shadow monster.

Perhaps Abigail's impact can cause damage to the shadow monster, which requires player operation instead of Abigail's active attack.

I think it's more logical for Gestalt to attack shadow monsters, but now Gestalt has aoe, which is too strong if it can attack shadow monsters. It would be more reasonable to remove aoe.

Perhaps my expression was not accurate enough. What I meant was not to enhance Abigail's abilities to reduce the difficulty of battles, but to ensure that Abigail can survive and be effective in high difficulty battles (when enemies have strong AOE abilities/battle scenes are very chaotic).
At present, I think it is Abigail's troublesome summoning, drug use, and operation methods that have caused you to put in too much energy to fight alongside Abigail in high difficulty battles. This is a very bad experience, especially since many players have to take care of Beefalo at the same time. Simply increasing Abigail's health can solve this problem, but it is not the best way. Some people may think it is too powerful/it will make Abigail a tank.
I hope:
1. There is a state that allows Abigail to be less carefully cared for, even if its effectiveness decreases. For example, making it unable to attract the boss's hatred and increasing defense, or having enough flexible evasion and invincibility like the previous version of Moon Abigail.
2. The new state of Abigail differs from the old behavioral logic, resulting in new gameplay. Teaming up with Abigail is Wendy's biggest feature, and it would be great if Abigail in different states could play different roles in battle.

Moon Abigail will look more like a supermodel if she instantly kills the shadow monster. In comparison, AOE only has 40 points of damage.

月亮阿比一下一个会更加无敌吧。相比之下AOE只有40点伤害,还好
