Mysterious box Posted December 7, 2024 Share Posted December 7, 2024 I've been thinking on it but I don't think the combined effects of tier 1 and 2 are particularly strong I'm beginning to think the better solution for the system and customization for it as a whole would be to make it so all badges only have 1 tier with the current combined stats but Woby's skill points would be dropped to 3 so you can pick 3 of the 5 skills at a time. Mysterious box Posted December 7, 2024 Author Share Posted December 7, 2024 I want to expand on this since I didn't really finish explaining this thinking back on it. So as I said above I think the skills should just be condensed into a single badge for each but i think the way it could be handled skill point wise would be the first skill point unlocks the base level 1 tiers like it does currently then another skill point would upgrade all the badges to their tier 2 effects. Finally the 3rd skill point would upgrade all the badges to their combined tier effects. This would unlock all badges at their maximum effect however you would still need to train them and you could only pick 3 different badges at a time. For example you could do combos such as bravery support speed or support, dig, and fetch. I feel like this would make players far more likely to try out different combinations as currently you need to spend 3 Woby points to fully max out a single badge which leaves you with only 1 point left. To give a better representation this is what it would look like in my explanation you would just have these 5 badges of which you'd only be able to pick 3 at a time. You would spend 3 skill points. The first 1 would unlock all these badges and put you at the current tier 1 badges level. The 2nd one would put you at the tier 2's level, and the final skill point would put you at the tier 1+2's level. In exchange however the amount of Woby points you would get will drop from 4 to 3 so you could only pick 3 at a time but you get their current maximum effects after you train them. He also would end up with just 19 perks, so there would be more space for the new ones. *O* Actually thinking more on it do you think it'd be a good idea for them to make all Woby's skills tied to this badge system with these shared points then have the remaining skills be tied to Walter's scouting based abilities? It actually just came to me after thinking more about it but I don't know if this would be a bad idea or not? The idea would be that this would be Woby's own skill tree separate from Walter in a way. Torpeda Posted December 9, 2024 Share Posted December 9, 2024 Before Walter's skill tree was announced I was expecting 8/8/8+2/4 perks, i.e. 8 survival (scout) perks, 8 woby perks and 8 Slingshot perks plus 2/4 additional affinity perks. I still want Klei to add some survival perks to the character. It's hard to tell if I would want all remaining skill to be tied to Walter's scouting, but some for sure. Maybe 5 Woby perks and 5 Scout perks total? Mysterious box Posted December 9, 2024 Author Share Posted December 9, 2024 Sounds good to me personally my main investment was for Walter was his slingshot and Woby but I figured since a lot of people wanted scouting abilities I made my considerations with that but yea I'd definitely be down for more focus on Woby.
