Pinetree Pioneer Hat upgrades

The hat for walter could get a slot in his skill tree for various variants of the hat.

I think adding a Pioneer hat that gives you a slingshot buff when hitting and enemy with a melee weapon could be a good way to not make his fighting not as repetitive but also be high risk high reward. Another hat idea could increases his stats gained from sleeping, giving him easier ways to heal, maybe it could look like a nightcap xd

(lot's of walters flaws that people complain about come from more experienced players that want more action in with his kit so maybe adding something more to his fighting style could spice things up? That's what mainly my thought process was when having the idea for the melee thing)

I believe it should just increase map reveal range, and maybe some other things.

 

Ill spit fire some ideas:

Increased foraging speed. Improved hunts.

I like Jake's idea. I don't think it'd be wise to make another pioneer hat to make the original obsolete.
Not to mention the amount of skins and varations they would have to make for that.. good lord..

I think just having perks related to the hat would be nice because his kit kinda wants you to wear it a majority of the time. The original could get buffed to make up with the other hats and you would switch between them depening on the situation, each referencing a camp badge.

You are right about the varations taking a while but personally i would be fine with the skins only being for the original hat or have them take a while to release

That would be so cool ngl, Klei could really use the hat for many variations, like more insulation, armor, the hybrid variation you said for going melee, faster picking up things, maybe one that does give him sanity the more badges Woby maxes, and many more.
