Possessed Slingshot band

Honestly before the dev stream I assumed the mimic band wasn't in the game yet like the other ammo types but since they said it was I went back and looked into how to get it so if anyone is wondering how you just need to either put it into a ornery chest or let the ornery chest eat the band before you kill it.

I will say while this is a really cool way to unlock a upgrade to the slingshot without a hint or external guide I can't imagine how anyone would figure this out.

One sad thing is, it seems there's no difference between possessed band and regular band for now.

It has a chance to make it so when you fire your slingshot you don't consume ammo this extends to charged shots as well.

Mimic Ornery is post-Rift, so yeah, another thing locked behind a mountainous wall.. The difference from Pig Skin Band to Cat Sling Band, to Possessed Sling Band is like the English alphabet, A to B, then B to Z. 

I do want to see how the changes feel tomorrow but I can't help but agree that a lot of his upgrades do seem to be post rift based even more than normal characters though I am happy they decided to move the charged shot to the early game like we asked. Currently it seems the post rift items are are brilliant rounds, husk rounds, Icker rounds, the posssessed band, the upgraded scrappy slingshot, and the void grip. Speaking of which with how often shadow and lunar aligned trees are starting to require pure horror and brilliance it's becoming a big imbalance in the paths when you consider how we have multiple ways to get pure horror pre rift but not pure brilliance.

I do like having rift character gear and stuff, I find Winona's boost upon getting pure brilliance and crown shards is a very satisfying bit of progression, for example.

I think it would be fine, if Walter got some mid-game modifications as well.

I do agree and while it is a lot I do feel like the possessed band and the upgraded scrappy slingshot do feel like end game items with the former improving your ammo efficiency and the latter giving you a infinite storage slot now that the charge shot will have a early game variant. I do however feel like the void grip just doesn't seem to fit as a end game item compared to the other 2 mods it's just a 7% fire rate increase over the silk one with no additional gimmicks.

I will say having so many special ammo types open up post rift feels like a really cool concept but also a bit unfortunate considering how many people won't be able to try them.
