Sisturn skills should help keeping Abigail from death

Wendy is either great with Abigail at her side or she struggles for her dear life when Abigail leaves her.

Abigail dying usually doesn't hurt that much, because she regenerates over time and still can take some weaker mobs in her weak forms, BUT when it comes to boss fights Abigail is a game changer.

When Abigail is alive Wendy deals 115.5% damage and if she's riding a Beefalo, the Beefalo deals 154% damage (should be 110% but whatever, it's not the point of this post), but once Abigail dies, Wendy turns to 75% damage and loses some sanity (which also hurts even more, as it may bring some Shadow Creatures on her head).

Abigail isn't of any use in this boss fight because summoning her is dangerous, as it requires timely animation, and Abigail will probably just die right after anyway (further decreasing Wendy's sanity).

By design, a fully decorated Sisturn should help Abigail stay alive, just look at Wendy's quote:

“I won't let you fade away, Abigail. Never.”

Suggestion:

Fully decorated Sisturn should prevent Abigail from complete death and:

  • unsummon her at low health,
  • lower Abigail's level by one,
  • remove additional maximum health from Blessed Sisturn III,
  • probably consume Petals adorning the Sisturn.

This would encourage usage of the Sisturn, make fighting bosses a little more forgiving and allow to heal Abigail while unsummoned so she might rejoin the fight after a while.

 

I know, some of you will say "just learn the game and master the glass cannon nature of Abigail" but I strongly believe that would be better for the majority of Wendy players and make her a little more accessible to learn figting bosses with.

After all Wendy is the newbie-friendly character by design.

Fully agree. As an addendum, I'd propose moving blessed sisturn II to its own dedicated skill, like vengeful ghost or the haunt skill, and making this the new blessed sisturn II.

While Wendy sharing her reduced sanity drain is a nice bit of team contribution, It hasn't really got much of anything to do with the sisturn. If necessary, make it a padlock skill.

It is bizarre to me that Wendy has absolutely no padlocks other than the prerequisite "Defeat AF/CC" and "Don't have opposite alignment." She doesn't even have a "Unlock at least X skills for alignment" like most survivors.

Neither does Wortox, I believe, and his Allegiance skills are both post rift... :|

Walter also has only one padlock to Projectile Pro skills.

Being able to choose an Affinity skill is helpful due to additional damage and defense from Side Allegiance, and they both waste a skillpont before Rifts are activated.

Oh right another thing, Blessed Sisturn II is currently useless playing alone, so having Blessed sisturn III, a globally useful skill, locked behind a skill useless in single player, should also be changed.

They did split that into two skills really... I blocked that information in my mind.

This skilltree truly is full of filler skills!

 

I await next beta update so much... I wonder what direction will Klei go with. Compacing Strong Brew into 2 skills and adding an Elixir Purse is already a great change. Flower Shroud change also seems reasonable, and Haunt command is pretty awesome tbh. Hope they can fix Blessed Sisturn into something interesting as well.

And also remove Vengeful Ghost

fairnuff,i also forgot it further decreases wendy's sanity drain too, so it isn't useless in single player either. Still doesn't fit thematically into the sisturn line imo.

Also, DP I is bugged and currently just doesn't do that

From what I got it either just reduces the Evil Flowers' aura or the reduction is from Blessed Sisturn II and Dark Petals I really is bugged.

yeah, it would be funny if the just attributed that property to the wrong skill and we were both right

They just responded it the latest game update that they're working on changing the function of the skills themselves/adding new skills that they'll show in a stream tommorow, so I imagine its not a high priority right now, especially if Dark Petals I gets completely reworked due to haunt.
