Should walter be a AK47 or should him be a sniper?

Out of purely curiosity, what do you think the only character who has an easily obtained method of long range attacks should be like?

If i can pick only one I will say AK-47 because the celestial crown + cursed round combo is BASED, Celestial crown is from my experience the best head gear for Walter, even more now that you can slow enemies and make more attacks. So a faster attack speed would mean more triggers of those 2 things.

But I think both together would be really cool, like, I imagine scrap and thulecite frame with their special attack ability will be more of a "sniper" thing, but Walter attacking faster with the normal attacks means you can control more when to attack.

I assume this means should Walter be a fast shooter, or slow methodical shooter 

 

And I think slow and methodical is pretty clear 

Everything about this game is slow, methodical, precise. 

 

Having him come out rapidly blasting just doesn't make sense for this games style

I think the W.A.R.B.I.S. head gear could work too in longer fights, but I'm not sure if it has enough range, for it to be actually viable with a slingshot.

Oh wow, you just gave me an inspiration for when I playtest Walter! Thanks for the big brain!

Edit: just tested against an immobile boss like CC. At max range (Cat Band) the buff works! But you only have like 2 wall-unit worth of space to move. Imagine placing down 4 walls in a straight line, from end to end that's your max buff range, which is kinda sucky yucky.

Tested against Fuelweaver with the cheese strat (teleport and shoot outside of the Ancient Gateway, stop him from pulling the plug using scaffolding pathfinder/icky round), it works! Funniest and cheesiest FW kill of my life. Using WARBIS Head means having to kill CC first, but I already did that to get the Brightshade Sword and Staff to fight FW anyway.

Against Bee Queen, it's a drag having to doge the Angry Bees, so not really viable. Everyone else? Fair game, maybe only DFly with Icky.

I'm definitely in the both camp the slingshot isn't a 1 size fits all solution to every situation so it feels great to have options on how to approach combat with it. Though if I had to pick I love the sniper style more simply because it's fun ambush your targets.

I went straight to disassembling the crown for my beta run so I completely forgot about this combo now that I've tried it I gotta admit it is a great combo when combined with icker rounds

In a sense it's sort of a Wanda situation but for sanity he gets higher dps in exchange for not getting hit and if you combine the thulecite suit with the crown he'll passively be getting back 13.3 sanity per min with no drain sources meaning it adds to his damage quite frequently even if your not using sanity foods.

I thought Walter was still affected by the negative sanity aura from magic items (Dark Armor), but for Thulecite Armor (and Enlighten Crown), positive aura works? That's cool to know.

Yep it's why I like to use thulecite armor as my default Walter armor pre rift.

That's what skilltree is supposed to do.

Yeah Warbis head is really good for slingshot too, but I like that between gestalts+cursed rounds you can do a bit of stunlock on the target. I think for pure ammo it may be better the warbis but idk
