What would be the creature of the next New Year Event?

Next year is the year of snake, yet dst so far doesnt have anything alike snake, and it seems that there's little possibility that klei would design a new creature just for the new year event, so... What could it be?

Maybe we could see snakes of shipwreck dlc?

Depth worms possibly. But I don’t expect any kind of a mob change, think we will get some kind of a mini game like this years sailing game.

Worms would be nice. Caves themed, underground, light, scary, hide (& seek) so many possibilities… But my hopes are on the floor lol.

Snake Otter, Rictus, and I won’t hold my breath for it but the various types of snake designs from Solo DS Shipwrecked and Hamlet DLC would make up year of the snake.

In the past (before silly weird mini games) The Lunar event actually added interesting content changes to the world as a whole.

For example: Year of the Gobbler over populated the game world with gobbler turkeys which is hilarious (and extra challenging) if you toggle them to on as Wurt, because now you have to compete with a bird who you can’t farm for meat and try to beat it getting to the berries you CAN eat.

even year of Carrat mini game added the rats to the Overworld so they could hide in Beefalo Fur and if you killed a Beefalo for meats the rat would fall out his fur and quickly munch up all the meats.

But sadly Klei has shifted design focus largely away from these kinds of world challenges in favor of silly little Chinese lunar new year mini game events.

Year of the Dragon was the most disappointing update they had ever done to the game PERIOD.

I do not have high hopes for Year of Snake… but I’m hoping for another Year of Gobbler style World Invasion.

I believe that such a saying of "shift" is rather inaccurate, for at the year of pig event you get a mini game, then comes the year of the rat which brings a worldly event, bull year and tiger year follows the same. Besides, I Don't recommand you using the phrase "silly little Chinese lunar new year mini game events", one reason is that the mini games actually has very little to do with Chinese new year, as for the other, well I guess you can guess it.

Considering the fact that during that period there was a bug relating to dragonfly, I have a reason to believe thay klei originally designed something about dragonfly itself, but eventually abandoned the idea due to some reasons, maybe the bug, and put the dragon boat which is from another entirely different festival in there.
