Add new gameplay to Walter: Encourage players to continuously manually aim during battles

Recommended Posts

I like KLEI's adjustments to Walter. Although his feature is that he can attack from a distance, using ranged weapons before this was still a loss compared to melee weapons. This change makes ranged combat truly possible. His combat methods can be further deepened.
Whether in the game or in real life, charge shot can increase damage, and the slingshot frame provides two ammunition slots. We can make some adjustments for charge shot to distinguish them from regular shot.

All slingshot frames: Any slingshot frame can be used for charge shooting. If the player accumulates power to the maximum value and immediately fires to hit the target, the charging time will be reduced by 40% after hitting continuously for 5 times, and by 70% after hitting continuously for 10 times. Charging shots will deal 1.5 times the damage. If the player does not meet the above conditions(such as not reaching the maximum value, not launching immediately after completing the charging, or not hitting the target), the charging time will be recalculated.

Charging shooting requires manual aiming, which requires players to accurately find the firing angle, especially when fighting against moving enemies. If the player does well enough, the shooting speed will be a very good reward, because the slower firing rate is Walter's most obvious disadvantage. This modification can enable skilled players to better use Walter.

Other changes:

  • Thulecite Slingshot Frame: as developers say, enhances the magical effect of ammo

1.Frozen Rounds: Applies a layer of Freeze to mobs within a certain radius of the hit unit, and extend freezing time by twice

2.Slow Rounds: Slowing down the speed of mobs within a certain radius and causing panic

3.Cursed Rounds:After the ammo hits, hold the mob for 1 second

  • Scrappy Slingshot Frame: Charging shooting can repel the target for a certain distance and penetrate the target to continue attacking the rear target, with a maximum penetration of 4.

As a post production tool, simply increasing damage is not enough, it requires some extra buffs to fight against powerful enemies behind cracks.
