Gestalt Abigail could use some changes, I think

I really like the idea of gestalt Abby. Giving her a transformation that makes her more focused on single target damage and as a result getting hit less due to trying to kite is really cool, and makes the lunar affinity really appealing to take.

However, after trying her out, it feels kinda bad to play with gestalt Abby. Mostly due to her attack rate. 5 seconds (which is what I believe it is at the moment), is not that often and makes her pretty useless when dealing with more than one mob. Which, of course, makes sense, but also makes her a lot less good outside of boss fights. 

It's a commitment, yes. You need to have gestalt Abby for 10 days before a chance at changing her back. This means that unless you're fighting a bunch of bosses for those 10 days, Abigail will be much less useful. I actually quite like this part. 

400 damage (with nightshade nostrum or night-time), is a lot. That every 5 seconds makes sense, but as I said, makes her feel worse to use than regular Abby. 

My idea? Change it back to 2 seconds, but also change the damage values. The current values have day at 150 and night at 400 (I forget dusk). I'd say make it so day is 60 damage, dusk is 100 damage, and night is 160 damage. This means similar dps (80 dps with night damage) as the current values and attack rate. This would also let her vex effect be taken advantage of more.

Alternatively, though I prefer my initial suggestion, make it less of a commitment to be gestalt Abigail, though this would take away from the whole full moon/new moon ritual thing.

I’ve been watching other people play with Gestalt Abby, and it seems like between the slow attack speed and wonky AI (not to mention losing out on Abby’s AoE and the vex most of the time), they actually might’ve been doing less DPS than Wendy + regular Abby? At the very least it seemed pretty inconsistent.

I like this idea, I also think Gestalt abi should be tankier imo instead of just kiting. 

When maxwell's minion take damage they teleport away, maybe abi could have the same effect to keep her from taking multiple aoes.

Yeah, a lot of the time she's just worse than regular Abigail because she has no AoE and you can hardly take advantage of the vex. Math-wise, gestalt abigail should have around double the dps of regular Abigail but only for one target, but the loss of vex + the ability for her to miss (because yes, I forgot to mention, but she can miss moving targets kinda easily which won't affect much bosses but is still pretty annoying) means that it's a lot less than regular abby. 

Increasing attack rate would make gestalt abby missing a lot less punishing and the vex a lot more plentiful, helping her stay on par with regular abby. 

The commitment Is really what kills her for me
I like the concept of  her doing dashes instead of the standard attack bubble.
If we could lower her damage increase her dash attack interval And like what @Radicaljoe said Make the attack be an aoe charge/dash akin to twins. she would actually be a decent alternative.That people would like to comit to.
Especially since they give her invincibility during her dashes.  Having more frequent dashes with  small aoe would still make her useful in general gameplay. but potentially more potent within bosses.
