Hyuyu Posted November 23, 2024 Share Posted November 23, 2024 First here's a small detailed list of what's changed for now: Your scaling for soul damage and knabsack damage is based on amount of souls held, up to 100 souls (this counts both held souls and jars, this means 2 jars + 20 is enough to max your damage boost) Soul damage increase from scaling is 1.25x damage, knabsack reaches 68 damage potential at this point (meaning at minimum it will take you 3 inventory slots to be committed to it, but two of those will be jars and one will be your normal souls stack) Pan flute inspiration now lasts 4 minutes from 2, but no other changes have been added as of yet. Soul decoys deal 51 damage without scaling. Soul pierce deals 25.5 damage without scaling making an efficient "soul grinder" on smaller mobs rather than tiny damage that rarely benefits you even for those. Soul jar greed gives you flat +5 max soul capacity for every jar you hold, empty or not. Lunar Swindler gives you bone armor for 1/2 hits based on your echo skill. Knabsack DOES NOT help you scale any skills anymore, it is it's own contained thing. My personal thoughts on this : This is a great direction for the Wortox changes and I've got nothing to say beyond the fact that I'm looking forward for the neutral tree goodies and the scale changes. I do feel now that Soul pierce cannot be used to shred a boss in 20 seconds (even if it was impractical), it could enjoy 34 base damage and decoys around 100 at max ramp up but that's not entirely necessary (just feeling a little greedy today). So the max damage on pierce and decoys is 25% higher than base? They made the base way higher and the scaling from the perk matter less, basically? It can be changed to have lunar and shadow equipment in the inventory, which can also increase planar damage. I like how the high base damage of the soul damage seems like it will make for really flexible builds. Tough choices, but interesting! If I had to grab one between decoy and pierce, I would probably grab pierce right now as decoy can seem iffy. But its also one extra point, so you can't get Nice alignment. But you still can with decoy III. Also, you don't "need" Overwhelming Greed, but it does seem incredibly nice now for QOL. Can skip covetous if you dont use the knabsack, but the knabsack getting tentacle spike damage at 100 souls makes life a lot more pleasant. No more constantly making ham bats. Mostly was hoping for a bug net feature, but capturing moles/birds/rabbits would be amazing. And grass gekkos as long as I'm dreaming. Yeah, I think the biggest comments about the knapsack's practical uses revolve around acting as something between a bundle wrap, and a bug/critter net. I definitely get that beefalo feel thematically good because of the animation, but I feel like a critter net would make more sense with the sweeping motion. Maybe for mobs that it could kill in one shot could be swept up? That and being able to soul hop and map teleport on a beefalo. If the devs don't allow this for whatever reason, I would just avoid beef taming as Wortox. It makes things clunky. Looking forward to the Alignment scale changes. Also hoping they change Neutral to be about crafting alternate pan flutes. A lower durability normal sleep one for Wortox, and another that is something like Dripple Pipes. Maybe some kind of team buff one with a new effect from Wigfrid's battle songs. Chubbylicious Posted November 23, 2024 Share Posted November 23, 2024 For me, the only things they could tweak are as follows: The knabsack has storage (4 slots would be perfect) and these are able to hold souls. So you can use it as a alternative for the soul jars in the early game, and it would make sense with the krampus lore thinghy, since the knabsack would turn into a Wortox version of the krampus sack. My idea is making it work like the Battle Call Canister or the Polar Bearger Bin, something that you need to open to acess the extra storage, so the UI shouldn't feel cramped. THE ABILITY TO TELEPORT WITH HEAVY ITEMS. Like, teleportation is Wortox's entire gimmick. It's so unfair that Wanda, a character that isn't as heavily reliant on it can do it and Wortox can't. This or maybe switching the reviving heart part of it's nice branch for a group TP thingy would be really cool. I don't have much to ask, I love the direction they're going and I'm happy to see Wortox be as versatile as he is. I'm also sorry for any english mistakes, english is not my first language, so feel free to correct me in the comments.
