Sapientis
Blessed Sisturn For now those 3 skills only allow you to add 100hp to Abigail's max hp (this doesn't go between forms when Abigail levels up, probably not intended, so 400hp in 2nd form doesn't convert to 700 in 3rd form but she's back at 600). Also Sisturn with no Petals should cause Abigail to lose those 100 max hp, question mark? Losing less sanity and preserving Petals in Sisturn from Blessed Sisturn II and I are negligible perks to have. If anything I'd make Blessed Sisturn I preserve Petals much longer (like Glowcaps), or maybe allow to store Mourning Glory in there so they can last forever. Blessed Sisturn II could be the effect of storing Dark Petals in the Sisturn (Dark Petals - more confidence, idk). Also while we're at it, make it have some room for Petals to make it a storage option, not just decoration maybe? Dark Petals Stage I should allow Wendy to create Dark Petals, turn Petals into Dark Petals or turn Flowers into Evil Flowers. For now there are very limited ways of acquiring Dark Petals (I mean, haunting them is one of the few ways and it's on brand, but it's pretty costly for the solo players early on... Maybe introduce a skill to tap into the afterlife for a while to become a ghost for a limited time?) Stage II is just straight up overpowered, I'd say make the health transfered half? It's still really good skill then but doesn't make tanking the Wendy new intended way of playstyle. Also 10 Petals, 10 Dark Petals and 5 Mourning Glories could be a better recipe in my opinion. Vengeful Ghost is... a strange one... Damage and duration is weird at best (I really mean it's pretty low and I don't understand the idea behind this skill?) My idea would be to allow Wendy to turn into a ghost for a while and make some Out Of Body Expirience shenanigans to mess with the world around (make some Werepigs, color shrooms, turn Flowers into Evil Counterparts, etc.) instead. Strong Brew It's a neat idea, but 3 skill points for this is a lot, considering the power of Mourning Glory farming upgrade that Pipspook Quest skills provide (I just don't see myself taking Strong Brew skills over Pipspook Quest skills, because cost of 1 day potions isn't the problem of 1 (Living)Log/Honey/Stinger/Spider Gland, but the cost of 1-3 Mourning Glories (maybe with the exception of the Living Log). My idea would be to make Strong Brew I add 4 minutess and Strong Brew II 8 minutes, but make Strong Brew III into Mixed Brew or something like that, so it allows to use two Elixirs at once. Also, I know this might be controversial, I'd nerf the Spectral Cure-All to heal only 400hp over 20 seconds but be affected by Strong Brew skills (so it heals 800 over 40 seconds with Strong Brew and doesn't remove 1 day Elixirs due to Mixed Brew). Pipspook Quest These are strong, fun and useful as they are, but again 3 skills for only that - upgrade to Mourning Glory farming, this is quite boring... My idea would be to mix those into 2 skills of Pipspook Quests (maybe neerf them a little, so the skills don't get too strong) and make the final one something special, like a purse for Wendy's Elixirs, similar to the Wigfrid's Battle Canister. This would be extremely usefull and promote using more niche elixirs (especially if you don't have Mixed Brew you'd want to carry more elixirs to use the one you want. Gravestones... These seem fine on paper but require some QoL changes. Grave Beautification is ok, I just didn't find many Evil Flowers spawned by ghosts... Also Ghosts could get some QoL changes to stop attacking neutral creatures like Bees or Butterflies, as homeless Bees are far better at "promoting dark gardens". Maybe at least make Bigspooks from Wendy's adorned graves neutral to those insects? Final Resting Place? is good but does it have to be tied to the character? When Wormwood got plant crafing skills I didn't hate it being tied to him because he's a plant himself, but this is different. Relocating Headstones should be possible for all characters. On the other hand there are the graves themselves (the piles of ground with some grave stuff like trinkets, gems, Nightmare Fuel, etc.) I hope this doesn't leave beta as it is now, because it's pretty stupid... Why does the grave spawn where Wendy places the Gravestone? Where does that item come from? These should be separate and also it's high time to allow either removing the dug Graves or put something inside them and cover with dirt to undig(sp?) the Grave. Those dug Graves serve no purpose and it drives me mad for years now. There are Graves with Headstones and Graves without them and both spawn Ghosts on Full Moons so... So my idea is to remove Final Resting Place? skill from Wendy skill tree, make Headstones diggable by default (so e.g. Beargear can dig them up) and make Graves possible to be "undug", by placing a grave item into them. Thus Gravestones By Wendy should acctually be named Graves By Wendy or Funeral Service allowing Wendy to make actuall graves in place of skeletons. TL;DR: Grave Beautification with Petals is ok, make Bigspooks neutral to neutral mobs. Final Resting Place? shouldn't be tied to character. Gravestones By Wendy should affect Graves more so than Headstones, she's not a mason! Team Spirit These are more of a QoL changes than actual skills and I don't feel too good about them... They don't seem to change much in terms of Wendy+Abligail gameplay; Escape is just faster Unsummon and Summon (good thing that it drops aggro), Attack At is somewhat usefull, but should probably be just default to Wendy at this point... Scare is something I can see being a skill, but it only works on weaker mobs so there's little use to it... 1st of all Attack At and Escape should Rile Up and Soothe Abigail respectively as well (this is probably intended just not mplemented, as well as the Ember Audio FX upon cancel ). My proposition to make those skills worth taking would be to make those commands have some base value, so Attack At could deal some damage while moving and upon ariving at the target spot, Escape could grand Abigail a shield for a short duration to prevent damage before aggro drops, or maybe restore a little hp and scare could work even on bigger foes, just with lower effect. Those commands are on cooldown, so giving them some base value would promote using them and thus spending skillpoints on Team Spirit skills. As for Allegiance skills... Allegiance I is self explanatory and very needed but I actually think this skill should grant Abigail Planar Entity Protection. Without this Abigail still dies after 4 hits from a treeguard. Lunar Allegiance II just buffs Abigail damage and it's fine I guess... Shadow Allegiance II should then buff the Vex debuff alltogether, not only its duration (so also damage increase on affected targets, probably planar damage at that). Vex duration isn't that important unless we talk about summoning Abigail just to apply it and die, but then the Elixir buff comes off, so idk about that (Elixir effects should probably remain after Abigail death, as they're applied to the flower, no?) Lunar Allegiance III is interesting, Gestalt Abigail should definitely have Planar Entity Protection and bonus damage to shadow alligned entities, as well as should be able to attack Shadow/Nightmare Creatures. This is single target oriented Abigail with far worse crowd control and basically no AoE damage, but I like the idea and the way you can turn her into a Gestalt and back using Moon Dial and the Moon itself. Shadow Allegiance III just deals 80 damage around Abigail upon murdering something from the inventory... This, albeit great to see DS reference, is super bad (numberwise but also far less interesting than the Lunar counterpart). I get it allows for some good AoE damage with many Bees murdered one by one, but Abigail does that well already (deal with low level hordes). Please, just make her turn all Shadowy and Horrory upon murdering something with Abigail Flower lying on the ground like it is done in DS. Summoned this way Abigail would turn into Shadow version, granting Planar Entity Protection and boosting damage towards Lunar aligned entities. This would be far better (think of Shadow Merms look). Last suggestions not connected with any particular skills: we need some Elixir Purse to store and carry Elixirs, there is a much needed option to have two Elixirs active at once skills in this skilltree are not really making a tree of skills, they are more llike a chocolate box, where you just pick whatever you like with little to no requirements and I'm not liking this approach too much; my favourite skilltree is probably the one of Wormwood where all skills are tied to their branches, Wendy skills are all disconnected, no sides, no requirements, nothing there should be a skill unlocked by helping a Pipspook find its toys similar to Wigfrid's quest-skills, those were fun and I don't know why we don't get more of these all Wendy players would love an Elixir providing some percentage protection that would protect Abigail from bosses' mob damage she receives. There could be and Elixir made from Marble giving her like 40% protection? Is that too much? Genuine question. And Finally, the skill tree somewhat resembles Ouija Board, I'd go all out on this idea and make the lines go as they do in the og board, so my suggestion is to make the skilltree look like this: Where you learn skills from either side inwards, and bottom Allegiance skills from inside outwards. They also have root requirement of having x skills unlocked and AFW/CC defeated, left one is no Lunar Affinity and right one is no Shadow Affinity. Spoiler Ouija Board for reference Skilltree with some of my suggestions implemented: Mixed Brew Out Of Body Expirience Elixir Purse Shadow Abigail Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160971-wendy-skilltree-overview-and-suggestions/ Share on other sites
Sapientis
Some other suggestions: there could be a perk automatically unsummoning Abigail when she gets below 10-15% health, this can be done manually, but probably saves you from some bad situations when you both get caught up in a bad fight active Sisturn could prevent Abigail from dying and reducing her a level down instead, this way adorning Sisturn before a boss fight would be highly benefitial if things go wrong Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160971-wendy-skilltree-overview-and-suggestions/#findComment-1760648 Share on other sites
