Agreed. In fact, I don't like the existence of skill trees, but this can't be changed, so it must at least make the game interesting. I totally agree with you! I don't understand why the production team always emphasizes Wendy's clothes. It's not strong. On the contrary, I think it is very complicated. Wendy's skill tree does not highlight the core mechanism and creativity, which is a complete waste of talent. What kind of little girl does the production team want Wendy to be? I don't think they understand it themselves. They can easily melt Abigail in the face of monsters with twice or even three times the blood volume. More often, Wendy faces these challenges alone. What can his sister do for her? Will Wendy be better in Beavis? I don't think so. It's not interesting at all. With both of them, Wendy’s combat capabilities can indeed rival Wolfgang and Wanda. However, after the armored Bearger update, unleashing the full potential of beefalo Wendy requires nearly flawless combat, which is no easy feat. Is this kind of challenging playstyle the basis for the current skill tree? Even without the beefalo, Wendy herself, paired with Abigail, can outperform Wigfrid’s past combat prowess. But! All of this hinges on Abigail's survival. If Wendy loses Abigail, she becomes no different from Wes. Is giving a highly popular character a powerful skill set really such a bad thing? Shouldn't game updates make players happier and more excited? If the final skill tree is only slightly adjusted from the current version, then I’m very curious to see if Wes’s skill tree will allow him to surpass Maxwell and Wanda. It also makes me question whether Maxwell and Wanda even need a skill tree in the first place. Changes implemented: -Level 3 shadow affinity is now super strong, as you can make Abigail deal double damage by murdering 20 bees/butterflies (nightshade nostrum + sacrifice makes her deal 80 dmg per hit for a pretty good time) Shadow allegiance 3 is such a weird interaction. while it is nice to now be able to beef up Abigail's damage maybe it should be fueled by having an interaction to rip up or burn mourning glory which would put more emphasis on the resource. No, the trigger should stay as it is. It's actually a reference to the original don't starve, where Wendy actually had to murder a creature to summon Abigail. I kinda get what you're saying about giving mourning Glory another use, the flavour the current one adds is immaculate. Let me ask you, does Wendy have a 2x damage multiplier like Wolfgang? Or a 1.25x damage multiplier with automatic defensive resistance like Wigfrid? Does Wendy show any notable strength when fighting bosses? Have you really played Don't Starve? Abbi dies so easily, and after she's gone, Wendy is left with a mere 0.75x damage multiplier—how is that strong? Are you kidding me? How does a character with 0.75x damage multipliers deal with shadow creatures? Is that what you call strong? Other than using AOE to deal with random spiders or frogs, tell me where Wendy is strong!??? At least give her some quality-of-life buffs if she can’t fight. Chopping trees and mining are the worst of all characters, and her skillset is just frustrating. Have you seriously played Wendy at all? what is bro yappin' about? Please chill out bro. Wendy is strong, destroys hordes and abi is very useful against a ton of bosses. Wendy is a strong character but with a downside which can be at least noticeable, which i prefere compared to other OP characters. Though I am sure reducing the multiplier from bosses to summons would help a bit they did give her extra hp. Also I think they kind of addressed it by giving you extra control over Abigail as well as her gestalt form which doesn't require her to stick to things while she does damage and gives her some space while you focus the boss or whatever you are fighting. DreamApart
It'd be nice if Wendy's ghost could haunt evil petals into normal ones, for the sake of lore or personality (Idk how to put up the words...) But if that is a skill to learn, it'd be useless (or boring at most). On 11/22/2024 at 7:06 AM, loopuleasa said: Wendy is already strong She just needs convenience and control and coolness More control over Abigail would make Wendy simply strong. While less control over Abigail makes her look like she has her only thought, not just Wendy's power, so Wendy does not look so lonely. (Many people I know who plays DST alone only plays Wendy because other characters makes them less lonely.) Too much control over Abigail may feel disturbing, either Wendy is so self-centered that she wouldn't let her sister go, or she was so traumatized and imagined everything. (To buff Wendy, the only thing we have to do is to add ability to ask Abigail to stick onto Wendy tightly. ) Wendy's skill tree now is not very weak, but is kinda boring, because it lacks strategy-making. They are either simply-and-strong or not useful. And some could break her personality. Wendy should not be simple and strong, but charming. So Wendy is a girl who is obsessed with death, but not ready to die, too painful to live, but still seeking for ways to live, soft, tender, cuddly, cute and firm inside. So the skill tree should not be simple and strong, but should be subtle and subtly useful, indicating Wendy growing stronger inside. We just improved the slog that is mourning glory farm, now we're catching butterflies/bees and then separating them in our inventory mid-fight to murder them. And if you want to preserve leftovers after a fight, you're stuck feeding them from time to time as you can't bundle without catching them back again. Plus if you kill too many you'd spawn krampus. Only way I can think of a practical implementation of it is if the buff lasts for a few minutes. That's just my own tolerence though, and people can have different opinions. If they have to change it, I'd prefer they make it more easier to get things to sacrifice then get rid of the mechanic, like adding a way to attract butterflies. dnam
There are already a lot of threads about Wendy so I'll just leave it here My feedback on Wendy's skill tree Blessed Sistrun It would be great if her health increase state is generally maintained. The combination of permanent 900 health and Special Cure_All will enhance her stability. If I need to spend 3 skill points for additional upgrades to her health, I would definitely do that. Dark Petals There has been a lot of discussion about the ability of Floral Shroud, and no matter how it gets changed, main Wendy players will ultimately find creative ways to use it. Personally, I think it would be great if the movement speed reduction from Floral Shroud were removed. Pipspook Quest A really good QoL feature, but I’d like to see more ways to use Mourning Glory beyond just potions. Strong Brew Since it’s easier to get Mourning Glory, it’s possible to craft a lot of potions. I feel like spending 3 skill points here is a bit disappointing. Another issue is that applying a new potion makes you lose the effect of the previous one. If I invest all 3 skill points, I’d like to get something special. Personally, I think at least Planer Damage potion effect should be stackable. Gravestone There are many ways to utilize this skill. It’s a good skill. Team Spirit I prefer attacking directly when unsummoning her because it’s faster. It’s a good skill for helping with Abigail’s control, but there’s still a bit of frustration. I’d like the motion speed to be faster. And there is a minor issue, "Scare" can fail due to stunlock. It seems to be intended for use when she isn’t being attacked, but players who are new to dst might find this confusing. Lunar Allegiance This is a good option for Wendy players who want single-target damage. However, due to the Gestalt, sometimes the attack misses when the enemy moves. It’s a very minor issue. Shadow Allegiance Wortox no longer collects butterflies, but now it’s Wendy’s turn to collect them. How about trying a different idea?
