Making farming rocks easier by being able to farm rock lobsters for their shells

You would build a rock lobster farm in the underground, and come to mine their shells every so often with a pickaxe. 1-3 rocks per lobster? Would also reduce their armor. 

 

You would need to first make them go into hiding, which requires you attacking them, or something else hostile doing so, which would make rock farming this way a dangerous process.

Would that be any faster than exploding slurtle slime for earthquakes? Or stone fruit?

Seems pretty dangerous for 3 rocks. That's less than if I went into the bulb biome and started mining the thin stalagmites.
