    • Very Unsatisfied
  4. 4. If you chose "Very Satisfied/Satisfied", why?

    • Cheese/Exploits were intended by the developers to be in the game if not patched out.
    • Cheese/Exploits are examples of emergent gameplay.
    • Cheese/Exploits are there for players to use as unconventional tools to creatively use to solve problems.
    • Cheese/Exploits are there to provide alternative and more viable ways to play the game.
    • Cheese/Exploits are there to provide easy solutions to unfair problems.
    • Cheese/Exploits do not severely impact game balance.
    • When Cheese/Exploits are patched, it is within reason (e.g. the Cheese/Exploits genuinely severely impact game balance).
    • I voted "Very Unsatisfied/Unsatisfied".
    • I voted "No strong feelings."
    • Other (do discuss in the comments!)
    • The right cheese/exploits have been kept while imbalanced ones have been removed.
  5. 5. If you veoted "Very Unsatisfied/Unsatisfied", why so?

    • Cheese/Exploits were clearly not intended.
    • Cheese/Exploits are not examples of emergent gameplay.
    • Cheese/Exploits are far too unconventional or absurd solutions to be counted as fair tools to use in the gameplay loop.
    • Cheese/Exploits limit the ways in which I play the game.
    • Cheese/Exploits make the game too easy.
    • Cheese/Exploits severely impact game balance.
    • Cheese/Exploits that severely impact game balance are not patched out.
    • I voted "Very *Satisfied/*Satisfied".
    • I voted "No strong feelings."
    • Other (do discuss in the comments!)
    • Klei has been uncessarily patching out useful cheese/exploits from the game.

I don't count any of this as 'cheese' unless it's an actual exploit that breaks immersion greatly. This game is a sandbox and creativity is rewarded. The game was in general a weird and random experience of mish mash of mechanics in mix of survival and exploration from the start but in DST everything is getting ironed out so well that everything actually is getting a solution which is a really good change imo.

More things getting solutions shows Klei evolving their team and their game greatly which is a positive change as long as it brings satisfying gameplay loops. So far, I feel very satisfied and I hope more things to come and more fun ways to cook or have home improvements brought to us through gameplay as long as it FEELS good to me.

Balance is a finicky thing, this game is a time cost game and most valued resource is time for both ingame and irl. If my time played is worth I think the game is more worth.

I use the statues for moon event, and a bait with walls to keep pigs outside of their homes during full moon or to hire them easily. If you count the attack canceling as cheese then that too when forging.

I don't mind others doing their own thing, but don't complain when it gets patched out. Like, it's evident it's not intended to function like that. If you use it anyway, you agree to the possibility of it getting removed.

I play walter, sling rabbits for loads of nm fuel, use eye of terror to kill herds of beefalos, cheese ag with maze and afw with pillar, cheese shadow pieces with boat, cheese bq with eye twins, cheese dfly with permafreeze... The list goes on.

Why so dishonorable? Because I don't get fun from standard melee combat and I suck at it. Were there no such unconventional ways I would have most of the game content locked away from me because they usually require defeating some bosses. And even though some of them are less efficient, it is in the end more time-saving than dying and rolling back 15 times. My focus is never on the combat itself, but what the loot brings and how it makes the survivor's life better.

I'm having a lot of fun, I'm not breaking the balance of the game for anyone else. This game is supposed to be played however we want, and if we are not affecting others, why not?
