Producing Serum Vial for Zombie Spores treatment

If you don't have Shine Nymphs you just have to wait out the Zombie Spores, in fact even if you manage to acquire a Shine Nymph/Bug there's a good chance the disease will have passed on it's own about when the Sun Nymph eggs are being laid. It's not that long to wait in the end game. While they're spore'd up you might want to skill-scrub and retrain them to mostly research and have them spend most their time running on hamster wheels unless they're already maxed out athletics. If their athletics is quite high it's still possible to derive value from a Spore'd dupe.

If you have DLC, radiation kills zombie spores pretty quickly. Best way is to unroot spore chids and let the germs die out, but you can generate some radiation to speed up the process.

10 dupes infected is quite a lot though, what have you done? Did you plant those flowers in your base? Or are you running in oil biome without any atmo suits?

I usually plaster them with uranium automated doors with one tile in between. That works pretty well. Also a nice way to decontaminate crude oil. 

Digging out spore childs is an art on itself. And the cure is also difficult to make.

Some of the stuff I found myself doing:

  1. A base needs minimum a O2 mask, ideally a atmo suit.
  2. Isolate the corridors or portions of map leading towards the potential areas. Liquid locks are best.
  3. If a spore is released, plant the other decorative plants that releases floral scent to combat the spores.
  4. The spores will die out over time.
  5. Dupes walking thru a spore area unprotected only get a chance of infection based on the exposure time. It's perfectly fine to dash thru contaminated corridors.
  6. Build tiles around and excavate in diagonal the spore child plants to get the seeds. Just be careful with the tile building. The spore seeds can be lost forever if the excavated debris has nowhere to go. The spore seeds are very useful for the Biobot quest.
  7. The biobot building is also great at filtering out spore-child contaminated gasses of any kind. Just pump in the contaminated gas (any type), and out is the gas but clean. You can use a automated vent for CO2 to return the gas to the spore child room. And any remaining clean gas can go back into the asteroid.
  8. As per manufacturing the cure, fortunately, I never had to use it. I keep a bunch of nymphs in a stable that is my steel/metal refinery, just for the decor. Thus occasionally they drop an sun egg. The building dedicated to the cure is set to make like 10 of them. Thus as soon an egg is available, a dupe will queue building a serum vial.
