running across the boards while on the cookie boat. i dunno what it is but it reminds me so strongly of the sunny joys of youth that i have actually bought -other- ocean-themed games just to have more of it~

It is a survival game that focuses on surviving. Or at least it did. Still does somewhat.

Now it feels like a boss fighting game à la terraria

THIS but so far since I mostly play in one-player worlds:

Watching MYSELF (I mean my chara) suffer over and over and over again without the kindness of permadeath :wilson_evil:

The game is still hard to play, and the surviving aspect is still hard to do. I have beginner friends and they have extreme problems with surviving. Criticizing adding more content for experienced players who can tackle all surviving aspects of the game is bad.

Obviously, the game still needs more polish in the "survival for experts" department, since Uncompromising Mode is doing a great job for this. But let's be completely honest:

There are players who have become pros of Uncompromising Mode, and the mod itself has become easy for them. It's not "the game is too easy nowadays!", it's "I became better and the game is too easy for me".

It became a boss fighting game for you not because of Klei's choices, but because of you becoming skilled at surviving. You started thriving and the only thing that's now posing a challenge for you is defeating bosses, making it seem like a "boss fighting game"

Yeah i guess so.

It has objectives now in the form of raid bosses that makes survival feel like an inbetween.

Or maybe they said that because we get atleast 1 boss per update while the last thing added in terms of survival before rifts was enlightement,  which is a joke underdeveloped, and sandstorms..

And the rift survival aspect are also really bland... surface earthquakes that are 100% counterer by the umbrella, weak acid rain 100%countered by umbrella, boulders in caves, ickers and a stationary mob that doesnt fight back if you use range weapons...

On topic: i like the ammount of stuff we have so there is always something to do when you play long term worlds.  Also, even if were hate by many people, i think year of[ ] events and the cawnival are a fun addition,  having in game minigames like boat racing,  carrat races and the cawnival minigames is a good thing to break the routine

Killing Marotters.

They stole my jerky during winter for the last time. I even died because I did not know they can swipe even in woodie forms so there I was flying around as a goose exploring the map and one clips into me and swipes my only meat (This was all early game) and when I got out of form I was starving and died because of course there wasn't a berry bush or carrot for miles and no seeds in winter. I only spare them because I had a den spawn near shore along with salt formations so I essentially have an automatic monster meat / cookie cutter farm.

wait...the title dit not allways say "facorite" right? no random shehanigans just happen like changin the title names right? i swear it said favourit before

I think I remember a "c"? It was definitely misspelled.

my favorite parts are definetly the music, ambience and atmosphere... and reading WX78's quotes, they funi :]

winter and spring are my favorite seasons because of that, the ambience is really good with howling winds or pouring rain. chopping down trees in spring is really nice, especially when it's pouring (not so much when everything's ablaze from a thunderbolt). although summer's work music is my favorite the season's kinda... painful

but by far my favorite place is the ruins. the music there has a really eerie atmosphere, it portrays nicely what is basically a lovecraftian ancient civilization gone to ruins (hee hee hoo hoo)

Spoiler

honestly, this was really hard to choose. i'm just really happy with everything in the game. i'm happy with the updates we're getting and the fun content they bring... i almost feel alone in this stance sometimes, y'know?
